Is Islam really the fastest growing religion?

Today I had the privilege to listen to Fred Market the Director of International YWAM Missions.

YWAM is the largest Evangelical international mission's related organization. They are in virtually every country of the world.

He stated that Islam is still the second fastest growing religion in the world despite what the media is telling you and that Islam is growing at a rate of 2.2 percent compared to Christianity 7 percent growth rate per year.

He said Islam growth rate has been miscalculated because the Census are basing the Islams growth rate on birth rates instead of conversion rates.

Meaning the raters are assuming that a person born in a Muslim dominated society are of Islam. They are not considering that fact of there are underground Church's and there are large number of Muslim converts to Christianity every day. Census's are gathering their information from Muslim government officials that are suppressing Christianity and falsifying its growth rate in their country.

He also stated that the largest growth rate of Christianity around the world is happening today in our life time.

Do we really believe that the god of Islam is greater then our God?

Although there are some Islamic divisions, there is none to compare with the divisions of those who CLAIM to be Christians. Islam by far is the largest religion on this planet. The next largest "religion" might be either Hinduism or Catholicism with Protestantism way down the list. Most stats of the "Christian community include the JWs, Mormonism and of course Catholicism.

The percentage of growth rate of the Islamic religions may have fallen a few percentage points (8%) recently, in number they are still the fastest growing religion in the world.

In Muslim nations, they do not use birth control. This is especially true among the Palestinians.

If Islam cannot conquer the world militarily, it will tye to do so demographically. Muslims typically have larger families, and if you are born into a Muslim family in a Muslim nation the chances are you will grow up Muslim.

Islam does not allow for the option to be given to those living in their midst as to what "religion" they will follow.

One might say that Islam is the fastest growing religion, but Islam is more of a government than a religion, as it does not recognize a separation of religion and government. Islam requires absolute and unquestioning allegience to its precepts upon pain of torture and death.
