I personally will not celebrate Halloween. As a kid I did participate in it. I am not sure how seriously it was taken back then, as being honored for Satanism and etc. If it was, I was naive and participated in it for the fun of dressing up and getting sacks full of free candy.

In the community I moved from, 3 yrs ago, was a large population of Wiccans. They had their get togethers in our public park every year on Halloween night. The things that went on before and after... were somewhat sickening. Also, there appeared to be more animal mutilations going on before and during Halloween itself. Horses with their ears and private parts removed.... same with some cattle and even dogs and cats. Whether it's was connected to the Wiccans is debatable, but nonetheless of cultic origin..... all around Halloween!

For the above mentioned things....is why I choose not to be a part of Halloween celebrations--- because it is not a fun time for dressings up and getting candy, but a time of celebration, honoring evil things I am against.

Blessings~

Pam

Anonymous, I have a question then. What do you do on that night? Close your blinds, turn off your lights and hide?

My porch light is turned off. If one would happen to come to the door, I would tell them I do not honor this night with candy... or do any form of remembrance.

.... I do not hide.

Can I ask what message you hope to send by doing that? Like...are you attempting to show that christians are seperate? Or that they are sinful or what exactly? I'm just curious.

Tess...this is my last reply back to you.

I commend your ability to search the scriptures, to obtain knowledge of His word. I see you trying to merge with the adults in your understanding of the word. I say good job!

But so far, I see some head knowledge, now you need to work on the heart knowledge! Pray more, and seek understanding in the Lord's lead!

Also~ when you reply to posts, remember to read it all! As I have stated before, these opinions are my own and my reasons for my personal choices regarding Halloween.

I will keep you in prayer.

Blessings sent with love~

Pam

PS-

With all due respect, you have no authority to tell me what I can and cannot post. I was asking questions. When you enter a topic, you are essentially inviting discussion. If you aren't open to discussing your thoughts and beliefs, you might consider keeping them "between you and the Lord".
Huh? where did I say this??? :P;) cool down little sister! Be a peace maker and not a problem starter!

I don't really think anyone is being naive, personally. I think we all know what the roots of this day are. Some think they're evil, some think they are from Christian roots. Frankly, we just don't care. We see the day as an opportunity to shine for Christ. Maybe its even a better day than other regular days.

I don't think I'd ever be able to answer the door and say that I didn't participate in their holiday. I think I'd just rather not answer it than risk the possibility of making someone think I was better than they were. I know you're not trying to give this impression but it might come across that way.

I apologize if my post seemed disrespectful (I was just made aware that you are a Moderator and I didn't realize this).

I understand that often my age and zeal seem to overshadow much of what I say. It frustrates me that many times I post things and they are completely disregarded because ppl know my age. I've considered removing my avatar and my birthdate from my profile because it's very frustrating. But then I figure I have nothing to be ashamed of, so I've left it.

I appreciate your encouragement and challenge to further pursue a heart understanding of Scripture. I think we could all do that wouldn't you say? 99% of the ppl on these boards do not know me personally or know what I do and don't understand. Most don't know what I walk through day in and day out or why I've developed the the personality I have. I can understand why I rub ppl the wrong way because I am very outspoken, but sometimes my fiery spirit seems to be taken as "head knowledge" or that I haven't truly experienced what I'm talking about. True, those who are older (or as my brother calls "seasoned" ;) ) have had far more experience in the Lord's grace and much longer to grow in wisdom. But youth does not mean one is not wise. Of course I realize that I have MUCH to learn (that is an understatment)...but please, please don't underestimate me (or any other young person)...God speaks to us too! :P

Again, I mean no disrespect at all. I was merely trying to participate in the topic at hand. I will accept correction when needed and try to learn from it, but I would really appreciate it if ppl would stop referencing my age because that seems to discredit everything I say. I don't mean to sound arrogant but I have experienced things in my 15 years that some do not face in a lifetime, and through those things God has revealed Himself to me in very real ways. Do I have things to learn? You bet! But my relationship with Christ is not based soley on things I know in my head. Much of what I post pours out from a heart that has experienced too many things to deny His truth.

Artslady ... I don't really relish answering the door with answer like that either. Certainly a child wouldn't understand. But if an accompanying adult asked me why, I'd be truthful!

Anyhow, most of the time when porch lights are left off it is a signal to the "trick or treaters" that the individual house is not giving out treats. So far, I haven't had to give a reason why--- but if asked, I would.

Blessings~

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
