Hi

I want to invite you to share with us on another topic. How were you saved? In your personal relationship with Jesus, what is it you have gleaned this week? Where do you feel He is guiding you?

Share your heart with us .

I tell you what I am looking at this week, it's Zechariah, and the promise of His return for the people of Israel and all those who believe in His name. I'm also seeing, even in the OT, a call for people to live the Spirit of the Law, in love for one another and genuine concern and provision for those less fortunate than us. (see my sig, I recently edited it).

I am also feeling challenged to know how to show others, both by example and through words, HOW to be comforted by the Lord (2 Cor 1).

So what is happening in your personal relationship with Christ? :noidea:

GBU

Thanks, but I was wondering what was happening in your life with Christ right now? Forget defending the catholic church, I want to see your heart for Jesus.

Many of us here disagree on matters but when we see the same Christ in each of our hearts, it is easy to fellowship together.

I'm from a Christian family, in my young adult life I served as a Deacon and as a Sunday School Teacher for a senior high class. Then for some reason or reasons I turned into a Christmas/Easter Christian, I don't know why for sure, I keep thinking it was because the Church (UCC) my family belongs to just wasn't what I was looking for in worship.

Then I went to war, I started what I felt was a relationship with God, you do a lot of praying when you don't know if your seeing your last sunrise or sunset. After I came back from the war (2004), I felt like I was missing something. At this time I was feeling like I had to find myself (which is stupid, I'll explain later), I wanted to find that closeness I felt I had with God when I was in Iraq.

My son starting going to a different Church and I could see a change in him. So I went to my sons Church and I felt the love just pouring in on me, it felt like my chest just opened up and the Holy Spirit just flooded in like refreshing cool water on a hot day and what a great feeling it is. It was like I could hear God say welcome home son.

Now for finding myself and the idea being stupid. Brothers and Sisters if somebody says that they want to find themselves, correct them. Those that want to find themselves may not like what they find. Instead of trying to find themselves, they should really be finding God.

I knew Jesus my whole life, but I can truly say I wasn't really saved until three years ago when I walked through the door of my son's Church. My son might not know it, but he was the salt of the earth for me. Thank-you Korey

I was born again in a Baptist Church at age five. I come from a very strong Christian family that studied the bible together regularly. Through late elementary school we attended a non denom charismatic Church and settled through most of high school on a small bible believing Methodist Church.

My relationship with Jesus faltered through college and early married life. It was only as I became interested in the Catholic Church that Christianity began to make sense again. There is nothing that compares to the presence of Christ in the Eucharist. There is a power and a beauty in being truly part of the body of Christ in full communion with the successors of the apostles.

Jesus is alive, and his love guides me now more than ever.

That's a very short summary, so if you have other questions I understand.

That's great bro, what are some of the issues/desires/hopes burning in your heart at the moment that you believe are motivated by the Holy Spirit actively at work in your life?

Let's see I was saved when I was about 15. I went to Church with a friend and at the alter call I went forward. It bugs me That I don't know the date but all well those things are not really important. My life was changed forever that day. There have been ups and downs but Jesus is always there. SO what is God doing in my life right now. He is giving me peace. For the last two years we have been living on my job and my love's unemployment. Now the unemployment is gone. My income on paper is not enough yet we have what we need and the bills are paid. But more important than that is I have peace. He is helping me not to be all stressed out.

That's great, and welcome to Worthy.

I was rather hoping Chesterton would fill in more detail about what some of us have been asking....just to balance all the RCC zealotry.

Where for art thou, Brother?

I read this today...

Jer 4:19
My bowels, my bowels! I convulse in pain. O walls of my heart! My heart is restless within me; I cannot be silent because you have heard, O my soul, the sound of the ram's horn, the alarm of war.

The alarm is sounding! Destruction will fast be upon us if we do not turn to the Lord. Makes me realise that unsettling feeling, like something big is about to happen... it's not entirely misplaced. I believe we are coming near the end of this race and things are about to heat up a lot.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
