JESUS AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD THE FATHER?

The" right hand of the father" denotes a place of honor. God is GOD and we can not put him in a box, or a place . God is every where and so is Jesus which includes his place of honor and intercession.

when i read on the held understandings of people on our God, its can be all over the place. And it still takes a while to bring out all they really hold as truth on God.

many of my questions have been answered on the article, but is it trying to say that Jesus does not have a literal throne? That all Scripture is in reference to his place /power/authority/position in Heaven? Can you answer this Omega, thanks.

Hello IGH,

but is it trying to say that Jesus does not have a literal throne?

Actually, there is some truth to this statement as I understand the scriptures. Jesus has not been given His kingdom............. yet! He is still acting as Savior and of course He is God!

Now this is just a view of mine (SO guys take it easy on me :oww: ) but let me explain where I am coming from

Matthew 25

31  "But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne.

32  "All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats;

It appears to me anyway that at this, at His second coming is When He actually takes possession of His throne.

I believe that Daniel in a vision, sees the actual coronation of Jesus being crowned King, and this by the way in my opinion also seems to dispute the oneness doctrine.

      "I kept looking

          Until thrones were set up,

        And the Ancient of Days took His seat;

          His vesture was like white snow

          And the hair of His head like pure wool.

          His throne was ablaze with flames,

          Its wheels were a burning fire.

I believe this is a picture of God the Father and as I continue with this thought I will show you why.

10

      "A river of fire was flowing

          And coming out from before Him;

          Thousands upon thousands were attending Him,

          And myriads upon myriads were standing before Him;

          The court sat,

          And the books were opened.

11  "Then I kept looking because of the sound of the boastful words which the horn was speaking; I kept looking until the beast was slain, and its body was destroyed and given to the burning fire.

12  "As for the rest of the beasts, their dominion was taken away, but an extension of life was granted to them for an appointed period of time.

This appears to be the millinal period, however, I am not positive "life was granted to them for an appointed period of time"

13

      "I kept looking in the night visions,

          And behold, with the clouds of heaven

          One like a Son of Man was coming,

          And He came up to the Ancient of Days

          And was presented before Him.

The Son Of Man is of course Jesus and He is presented before the Ancient of Days! God the Father. These are definately two distinct persons of the Godhead, not a right hand but an individual.

14

      "And to Him was given dominion,

          Glory and a kingdom,

Christ is given His Kingdom

That all the peoples, nations and men of every language

          Might serve Him.

          His dominion is an everlasting dominion

          Which will not pass away;

          And His kingdom is one

          Which will not be destroyed.

His Kingdom is an eternal Kingdom, and the chapter goes on to explain how we as followers of the Most High will take possesion of the Kingdom with our King, Jesus.

Daniel 7:22

until the Ancient of Days came and judgment was passed in favor of the saints of the Highest One, and the time arrived when the saints took possession of the kingdom.

Luke 1:32

"He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David;

Hebrews 8:1

Now the main point in what has been said is this: we have such a high priest, who has taken His seat at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

I appears to me anyway that it is saying that Christ took a seat next to at the right hand of God the Father, it is a position of great power, but it doesnt refer to it as a throne but a seat at the right hand of the throne.

Hebrews 12:2

fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Revelation 3:21

'He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

Here Christ makes a definate distinction between His throne and the Fathers throne.

Now if I am not dogmatic on this view and am most definately open to correction, it is just a view of some things I noticed and the way that they are written seems to me anyway that Christ has not been given His Kingdom yet, and is still acting as Savior and not neccessarily King yet.

He will be and is King of Kings and Lord of Lords, but at this time has not yet taken His seat on His throne. What are your thoughts?

I haven't read through this whole thread because I don't have the time...but I did want to share a passage in Hebrews that I believe answers the question. If this verse has been shown before then I apologize for being redundant....

And God never said to an angel, as he did to his Son,

"Sit in honor at my right hand

until I humble your enemies,

making them a footstool under your feet."

Hebrews 1:13

That answers the question IMO.

God Bless!

What doesthe LEFT Hand of God do - or stand for ?

31 "When the Son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate them one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, 33 and he will place the sheep at his right hand, but the goats at the left. 34 Then the King will say to those at his right hand, `Come, O blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; 35 for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, 36 I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.' 37 Then the righteous will answer him, `Lord, when did we see thee hungry and feed thee, or thirsty and give thee drink? 38 And when did we see thee a stranger and welcome thee, or naked and clothe thee? 39 And when did we see thee sick or in prison and visit thee?' 40 And the King will answer them, `Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.' 41 Then he will say to those at his left hand, `Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels; 42 for I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.' 44 Then they also will answer, `Lord, when did we see thee hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to thee?' 45 Then he will answer them, `Truly, I say to you, as you did it not to one of the least of these, you did it not to me.' 46 And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life." Matt 25:31-46

I thought this was appropriate for this discussion...

He has a throne, and at the full manifestation of the power of Him, He will show He is The Servant of God, and all will see He is in control.

JESUS AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD THE FATHER?, Is Jesus Literally at the Right Hand?

First of all the picture breaks the first commandment.

Exodus 20

2 "I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3 You shall have no other gods before Me. 4 "You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth;

So throwing that picture and all that it concerns away. Yes JESUS CHRIST is at the right hand of GOD in the atmosphere above the surface of the earth.

Acts 7:49

Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool

Hmmmm interesting position...........

So, what is your take of the following passages then:

Heb2:7 -9 "...You (God) crowned Him (Jesus) with glory and honor...putting everything under Him ...now crowned with glory and honor."

Heb 4:16

"Let us approach the throne of grace with confidence..."

Ephesians 1:18-23

"...which He exerted in Christ when he raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand....far above all principalities and power, might and dominion, and every title ....And God placed all things under His feet and appointed Him to be head pf everything for the church ..."

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
