I have a great friend, 67 years old. She is a godly woman. I count on her for support and prayers . 5 years ago she was diagnosed with kidney disease. She is not a candidate for transplant. Today she has 15% of her kidney funtions, what qualifies her for the diagnose of end stage renal disease . Since she absolutely refuses dialysis she was put in hospice services. Let me tell you, it has been very difficult for me to respect her decision. Her argument is that if God wants her to live he will heal her kidneys if not it is because her time has come. I think that she believes that God will cure her. I don't want to go into questioning her decision, she is surrounded by bible based christian people and I know that they have discussed it with her . Some how I don't believe that today our God do miracles. I would love to change my thinking. What do you think?

My father-inlaw died around 5 years ago with cancer. A righteous Godly man. Many people prayed for him daily. We prayed

for supernatural healing. It was the suffering that concerned us...we didn't want him to suffer. From day one of the bad news

he fought the battle with Jesus. He did everything humanely possible with doctors, chemo...the whole cancer scenerio. And at the end

even with all the medicine...he was communicating with Jesus. There was no doubt in my mind Jesus was right there taking

him home. It wasn't until my wife, his daughter, told him...that is alright Daddy...we will be alright...that he quit

fighting and suffering...the hardest day we have ever experienced...but he fought the fight and was an overcomer...and it has made us

overcomers...like my wife says..if I can make thru this...there isn't anything I cant overcome..

Our prayers were not answered as we expected...but they were answered...and we gained wisdom from a terrible situation..

I do believe Jesus wants us to be overcomers...what ever life drops in our laps...I have read about supernatural healings

but I know it didn't happen for this righteous man...

But we did learn that ......Love is sacrificing when your cup is already full...

For us the supernatural came afterwards...thru the love of Jesus...we have all been able to talk and visit with him thru

dreams...one dream my wife was even fishing with him...it has been very comforting...even though we miss him not on earth

with us...we realize he really isn't that far away...

I pray your friend..is comforted and does not suffer..in whatever she elects to do....May Jesus Bless you and her in this terrible situation

and give her a supernatural healing...

I Believe In The Almighty God Of Creation

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, Luke 4:18

Our congregation has prayed for people who had some sort of health issue and when they went back for a check up, it was no longer there, so I

would have to say yes, God does still heal those He chooses to. However He also maps out a life for each of us and His will is the determining factor.

Remember that Hezekiah prayed and God added 15 years to his life?

Genesis 2:7

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Psalma 104:29

Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled: thou takest away their breath, they die, and return to their dust.

Our soul life is God's to give and to take away.

I pray that God shall give you peace of mind about your friend and that she yield to His perfect will.

Hi Lori,

Nothing is impossible with God.

Are you speaking of God answering prayers, or of larger (from our perspective) miracles like raising the dead? I believe God has never ceased doing either. If I may, I'll share one instance from my own experience.

My friend R and I had had many conversations about faith, God, and religion. He was the furthest thing from holy. He was a hard drinking, drug using, idol worshipping (he followed a New Age mix of Hinduism, Zen and his own fancy), sex addicted and 'rational' guy. He had lots of money, and had been head of several schools in the past, though in each instance his life caught up to him.

In the depth of suicidal dispair, he called me, even though he knew I was a Christian and didn't approve of his life or the gods he served. I was his friend though, and he knew I loved him.

Everything had failed him. His meditation, drugs, alchohol and sex were not keeping him in his delicate balance of sanity. We talked for hours and hours. He slipped out a couple times to do some drugs, thinking that I wasn't aware of what he was doing because it was 'out of my sight'.

I spoke to him of his need for God, and how nothing else could fill the hole in him or release him from his addictions. As I left, I lay hands on him and prayed for his release from addiction.

I wish I could say he awoke the next day a believer and lover of God, but I can't. What I can say is that he admits that God heard and answered the prayer. For only the 2nd time in his life, he was free from his addictions (the 1st was also through prayer to Jesus). Shortly after this, he 'ran away' again to a new city and went back to meditation and worship of his gods who have never been able to help him or to hear his prayers.

I still periodically talk to R, and as he gets wise and philosophical about his gods and meditation, I simply ask him, "Which God is the only one to ever release you from your addictions?" He usually stops talking to me for a few weeks/months each time I say that. He knows though.

I don't think God is finished with R, and I keep him in my prayers.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
