Whoa. You are certainly entitled to your opinion that I am wrong, but your anger is misdirected.

If you enter into a discussion on a controversial forum, don't get mad when someone discusses with you and points out your contradictions. If you "don't want to be questioned", then don't enter the discussion. Seems reasonable to me.

What "manner" has anyone spoken to you in? All I see is GMan asking you a question:

"But I do not permit a woman to teach or to assert authority over a man, but to be in quietness" (1 Tim. 2:12)

How do you reconcile just this one verse with the 5 examples you used? Either this verses is not right - it contradicts the examples you gave (And therefore, the Bible is not the inerrant word of God) - or the examples you gave are flawed. You simply cannot have it both ways. Just something to consider.

because you chose to enter into the discussion. I see nothing rude or insulting going on. Peace. :o

I did not get mad nor am I mad...As I said , if you read my post..Thats I should have refrained from posting , but I went agaisnt what my spirit was teeling me because I was in the flesh....Have you not read everything???...Questioning me how I feel about the word of God and then questioning the calling on ones life...That is enough because you are questioning what God has called one to do...and its wrong...I find it interesting that those of you who belive women ias ministers is wrong see nothing wrong with the things being said to me and questioning of my faith, but those of us who do believe that mwomen ministers are biblical find some of your questions walking the line...Interesting..Not only in here but in my pm box because some are afraid to post how they feel in here therefore I am pm'd instead..It's ok that I am pm'd I welcome it because it shows me that in this place I am not alone on this subjects..People are afraid to post their opinions because of who people speak to each other..Cause TOO MUCH pain and conflict...I chose to stay out of these threads because of this very reason..If I do not feel blessed when all is said and done then I do not belive that I should have participated...I have posted my stance and have said time and time again that I will not argue scripture...Nit picking every single word I have typed here concerning the manner you speak to people in...Did you NOT read where I spoke directly to God Man..I guess you missed that...

Oh I'm a woman I don't have avoice...Oh am I allowed to speak the wqord to a group of people for purpose of spreading the word of God....Just a lowly woman without a voice or a calling from the Lord.... :x:

Well, I'm glad you're not mad. :o

Questioning me how I feel about the word of God

That is what takes place on a Christian discussion forum. :P

and then questioning the calling on ones life...

Again, if someone enters into the discussion and says they have a calling that seems to contradict Scripture, then I'm not sure what you expect........for noone to ask you to back up your beliefs? Then a discussion board is not what you want. :o

That is enough because you are questioning what God has called one to do...and its wrong...

No, questioning is never wrong. I hope you know that. Just look at all the governments that have the policy that "questioning is wrong". It's tyranny and oppression. If someone came on here and said they were a polygamist and, as a Christian, had the right to be one, you would "question what God called them to do". :P:rofl:

I have been studying this latly. There are many women Pastors in the church these days. Is it ok? Or is it plain disobedience?

God used Paul to establish the church. Do we still go by this? Or has it changed?

1 Tim 2:11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

1 Timothy 3:1 This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;

3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;

4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;

5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)

6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

8 Likewise must the deacons be grave, not doubletongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre;

9 Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.

10 And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.

11 Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.

12 Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.

This is another subject that I want to believe that it's ok because there are so many in the body that says it's ok.

Is this scripture for today? If not, please tell me when it changed and who did God tell to change this practice.

Please, let us not argue but talk about this in love. I just want to know the truth!!

I looked for key verses like "choose for yourselves" and "we have no custom" but I could not find any.

Your info on this subject would be greatly valued by me.

In his love,

Brian

The info is correct, that which is in the scriptures is for today, and women should not be leading men. Men should be righteous, and lead women correctly.

Shelby and all my family at WB,

We must look to God's Word as the final say. Jesus said that Heaven and Earth would pass away before His Word would be found to be wrong. Believe me when I say that I struggle with one particular verse when it comes to pastoring. I was a pastor and my first wife left me. My denomination says that the verse that says a pastor should be the husband of one wife excludes me from being a pastor now. I have had many people who have explained other interpretations of that verse to me and some of them bring up very good questions. The following is probably the best question regarding this verse.

The verse in question does not specifically mention divorce therefore since a pastor can be the husband of only one wife a man who's wife has died and he has remarried cannot be a pastor. I understand that most people are going to say that it only applies to divorce but non of the verses around it say that. With this question then could the proper interpretation be that a man can have only one wife at a time? For some the answer is easy, yet for others who now maintain an orderly household as is stated in another group of verses they will always feel that fire inside, that calling that God has placed on his life.

This year has been very special for me as I was able to preach without being in the pastorate role. It was a dream come true. I had wondered why the Lord had led me to the church He led me to and I had even thought about leaving but I kept feeling the Holy Spirit saying to stay. In early January of this year my pastor passed away and left his wife with their house being the collateral for the church. Of course there were those who left being that the same pastor would not be there anymore. As a couple of months passed more people left and it became apparent that we would have to merge with another congregation or sell the church. We decide to sell the church so that our pastor's widow would no longer have that burden on her. after our pastor's death the church asked me and another person to preach until we knew what God would lead us to. After not preaching for 10 years I started to preach every other week. It renewed my heart and my soul. The other person had quite a few obligations and for the past 2 months I have been preaching every week. Last Sunday was the church's last Sunday as we sold the church to another congregation. I must say I am pretty sad right now but have thanked God many times for this dream He allowed me to live. I can say that I feel God's call on my life is still strong but I must always try to abide by Scripture. As I have said it would be easy for me to accept one of the other interpretations of the husband of one wife verse but a healthy fear of God keeps me asking.

Sorry this was so long but after reading some of these posts I felt led to add a reply. I think I also needed to put in words my feelings about my dream being over. Thanks for listening my WB family.

Koppen, would you point out where someone insulted you and was rude to you? That's wrong and should be addressed.

As for the "pm" thing, I find that all very junior-high, but that is JMO.

Well, it might be junior high as you said but some people are not strong enough emotionally..Sometimes I'm not as well..But I thank them for their pm's because it helps me to know that I am not alone in this here..

Shelby made it quite clear in her last post for me...I was going to say the very thing she said ... But I AGAIN chose not to...So now what I am going to do is go back and remove ALL of my post in this thread and remove myself fromt his discussion and those of you who have read my stance know where I stand...

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

      Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

      This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

      You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

      Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

      I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

      For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

      2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

      So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

      Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
      Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

      Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

      As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

      Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
      Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

      So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
