I found this on the Drudge Report today. It came from Reuters. This is the type of culture we face if we don't win the war on terrorism. Very sadning.

'Beat me once a week' says Iranian woman

22 September 2004

An Iranian woman, beaten every day by her husband, asked a court to tell him only to beat her once a week.

Maryam, the middle-age woman, said she did not want to divorce her husband because she loved him.

"Just tell him to beat me once a week ... Beating is part of his nature and he cannot stop it," Maryam told the court.

The Tehran court found the man guilty and banned him from beating the wife, the paper said.

"If I do not beat her, she will not be scared enough to obey me," the husband said.

WHAT A PUNISHMENT!! YOU CAN"T BEAT YOUR WIFE ANYMORE?

Think about WMD in the hands if people like this and then you might understand why trying to plant a free democracy with human rights in the middle east is a worthy cause. Either this mindset changes in that part of the world or the world is a time bomb.

It's a swell arrangement for sadistic and masochistic dysfunctional maladjusts who need psychotherapy.

Man, I don't care what ANYONE says....if a man beat me...I'm outta here. Sorry, folks...throw stones, rocks and condemn me all you want.

I'm gone. Period. I was a punching bag for years and had enough broken bones and trips to the ER...no more.

I'm done with that stuff.....

Thats just what they do. The standard stoning proceedure is to bury the women up to her neck and let the crowd lob rocks. You should read about the "Honor Killings" that take place on a regular basis in many Islamic countries. If a young girl gets raped, many times a male family member will set her on fire because she has somehow brought shame to the family.

In truth, if you were to ask me"do we have a right to go over there and enforce our will?" My answer would be yes. That whole culture is dangerous and they pose a theat to themselves and us. I don't care if it's not fair. You can through "fair" out the window when dealing with this culture. Islam teaches world domination. I don't care what the "moderate Muslims" say. It's in the suras of the Koran and it's not ambiguous at all. Now we live in a time where technology as provided a means by where small objects can kill multitudes.(WMD) And the radicals are going to get there hands on them. Its just a matter of time. After 911 when asked what his demands were, Osama said "first...you must come to Islam". Allowing Islamists to have WMD of any sort is equal to allowing a 2 year old toddler to play with a loaded shotgun. Someone is going to eventually get shot. I hear President Bush's detractors make the charge that he uses scare tactics. GOOD!!! We should be scared! Bush can't say this because the PC police would be all over him but the truth is, we are in war that stems from a crazy religion that produces a violent culture. Most of us here(on this board) are God fearing Christians and hold a world view that springs from our beliefs. The thing that scares me is that half of our country is leaning towards a secular humanistic way of seeing things. You know...the no moral absolutes crowd.(Liberals, Hollywood Crowd and other Eliet-type groups.) These people aren't helping matters. They, for the most part wave peace signs and "keep abortion legal'' banners and pollute our air-waves. They don't fear God and don't understand that the only way we can win the war we are currently in is to have GOD on our side. The'll go as far as to say it's all America's fault. Most of them are Kerry supporters. I may sound like a "right-wing extremist". Its just that when I read stories like the one I posted I get scared and mad.

It's sad when you consider that this kind of thinking is the result of the human condition. Many abused women in our culture suffer with the same kind of mentality: "Oh, he didn't mean to do it; he was drunk and didn't know what he was doing; I forgiv him for beating on me; no, Mr. police officer, I don't want to press charges. He really loves me, and he's promised to never do it again."

There is a "moderate Muslim family"(I hope!) that live a few houses down from me. Most evenings the Husband will take the dog and his wife for a walk. Notice that I said ''dog" first. The dog walks along side of him and the Wife walks 5 paces behind him. I can't proove anything but she looks beatdown to me. He carries a stick. I don't know if it is to beat other dogs away or if it is for when he feels his wife needs correction. Ive never seen him hit her. Anyway, he seems to revere the dog more than his wife and is unsettling. I don't hate Muslims. I hate a belief system that allows for this. I know that the one true GOD( Jesus) would not stand for this.

HI DAN, Sad Sad post, Kinda gets me angry when I read things like this, I too am not against the good people who are caught up in the Islam religion, But I do suspect that ONE of the MAIN reasons that these terrorist HATE AMERICA is because of our CHRISTIAN belief in how to REGARD and TREAT WOMEN, And as posted, It seems the MUSLIM MEN have a real PHOBIA of LOOSING POWER and CONTROL over their WOMEN, ............TAKO

Posted

That type of treatment to women is horrible. I have been fortunate that I have never been hit or beaten at all. I have to thank God for that.

It really angers me that any man would think he had to beat his wife once a week to get her to obey him. Women are not supposed to be controlled through intimidation and beatings like that.

Being submissive is in line with God's will, but God never intended for any woman to be a doormat or a punching bag for her husband, in order to get her to obey him.

That just sickens me.

Someone else stated in this thread, that this is the reason why we need to win the war on terror and I couldn't agree more.

That is SO true God-man. The man always cries and says he's sorry and convinces the bruised and battered wife that he didn't mean it. The women love these men so much, that they want to believe that what they're saying is true, so they forgive them and things are ok for a while, until the husband finds another trivial excuse to repeat the same thing over again. Most women in these situations have no way out or are threatened by their husbands that they will be beaten or killed if they try to leave. To think that this is constantly going on somewhere is really sad.

I know this muslim guy who works at a local 7/11 (yea yea, I can hear the comments) who told me that most muslim men want nothing to do with western women because the women, he explains, WILL FIGHT BACK! If a man goes to hit a woman here, chances are that the woman will kick his butt all over town and then tell his friends that she wooped upon him. Or if a man hits the woman, the woman's family will settle the matter by holding a "midnight party" with the man as the "guest of honor". I know of many women who allow themselves to be subjected to abuse, but for the most part women in this part of the world will not put up with someone abusing them. :prayer :pirate:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
