"heresy"

I thought that this was avery interesting topic after things that have occured in another thread....

A Problem

If there is one thing that characterizes the Christian world today it is differences of opinion. There are over 800 different established denominations in the United States alone, and that is not counting the many totally independent congregations. The basis for the distinctions is usually difference over doctrinal views. All this difference of opinion constitutes a serious and pervasive sin condition in the Church. One of the main reasons for the Great Tribulation is to chastise Christians for their failure to live the kind of lives they should be living in this world. The fact that they allow all this division to exist is one of their main failures.

The Issue of "Heresy"

For all their differences of opinion, modern Christians tend to be quite sensitive about the issue of "heresy", that is, the teaching of false doctrine. Or so they understand the word "heresy".

If you come down to the "nitty gritty", "heresy", in common usage, is any teaching that disagrees with the views of the person using the term! (This writer's views have actually been called "heresy" on precisely that basis! In terms of Scripture, his views cannot be called heresy in the sense of false doctrine because they do not deny or contradict any of the basic tenets of the Christian Faith. See II Peter 2:1.)

However, the Greek word

I am of the understanding (correct me if I am wrong) that heresy is actually a teaching that is the opposite of "orthodox" which I am of the understanding that is "non-traditional" teaching.

In other words, it is something that was not in the Bible or the early church.

Your discussion was real good till you got to the part about different translations. God has inspired all the originals in all languages, because He is no respector of persons, or languages. He has given us instructions of how to study, and who our teacher, and interpreter is so with your stance you are saying that God has to have mans intellect applied to make His love letter to His children understandable. I have proven to myself this fallacy. I spent 10 years with the languages, and writtings of men because I wanted to know all there is to know about God. Since I closed my personal library of Bbile versions, commentaries, concordances, etc. And began to spend time with Him in the original In Eglish 1611 KJV which I couldn't read at first, and The Holy Spirit taught me to read, I have grown increasingly closer to Him is personal relationship, which is His Purpose for us. Satan knows more about God than most of us will ever know, and yet he gave up his personal intimate relationship with God, to serve his ego. He has told us that when we search for Him we will find Him when we search with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and He likened it to searching for treasure the finding of which is not easy. God knows that the harder we humans have to work for something the more impact it has on us, and this is verified in Christs statement that we will suffer for our belief the same as He did. It is not intended to be easy, and in fact easy is detrimental to us. Be like the shepherd find all those areas in His Scriptures that deal with the issues of life that those He brings into your life are dealing with and then lead them to those Scriptures, and The Only interpreter, The Holy Spirit. You can not digest the food for them. There are no Scriptures that teach that God needs modern day methods to communicate with His Children, and it is Written that He Is The Same Yesterday, Today, and Forever. There are no exceptions given to this statement.

I would strongly suggest that you all think about how that with the words out of His mouth God spoke this whole universe into existance. He created every language that their is. But then somehow are another, He was not able to give each one of those languages written Scriptures without the intellect of man applied for His Children to understand them. Don't you realize what you are saying about God?

Not saying anything about God, I would NEVER speak anything against God,..That is insulting....As I said in the beginning of this on the title...I thought it was interesting....

That is why I always like to research and see the source of these articles. Koppen, could you provide where it came from? Thanks!

Sorry if I misunderstood.

The devil is so subtle in getting us just an nth of a degree off target, and He doesn't care how much we get right if he can get just a taste. I like the anology of the archer shooting at a target. The way to God is a straight, and narrow path, just like the flight of the arrow has to be in order to hit that bullseye. If the shooter is off just a fraction in his aim by the time that arrow travels the distance it could possibly miss the target all together. We serve a Holy God, who has made it possible for us to return to that original holiness Adam, and Eve had with Him in The garden. And we can do it because Jesus said we can.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
