That's an odd question OO, but it did give me pause to really read the passage. Odd wording there, with 'the righteous' & 'brothers' possibly being different groups of people. hmmm. Will have to study on that a bit.

What are you seeing in it?

1. When He comes in His glory: This is the Parousia, no doubt. I believe that you see a word-picture of Revelation 20:11-12 here. Notice that Jesus never says where this takes place. Heaven and earth themselves have fled away. All the nations (countries in this case, not Gentiles, although the word can be translated to mean non-Jews) are gathered before Him.

2. The people of the nations are separated out like sheep and goats: The righteous and the unrighteous, very obviously. The sheep (righteous) are told that they are blessed of the Father and to inherit a kingdom prepared for them from the foundation of the world. Then Jesus tells them that they did certain things which appear on the surface to be works that get them into the Kingdom. And works they are, but they are works of faith. Because these people had faith, they did things which proved it. So they are not getting into the Kingdom based on works of the flesh. These people are resurrected in glorious bodies and the second death has no power over them (Rev 20:6)

3. The other group are the goats: Obviously the unrighteous. These people had no faith at all. They never did any works which proved faith. They lived for themselves, as if there was no God. They are judged by the things written in the books. And in being judged by them, they are found lacking and their fate is Gehenna.

When Jesus refers to the least of these, His brethren, I believe he refers to people in general. Christ came and lived as a person, a man. In that sense, all men are brothers to Christ. The word brethren is adelphos which can mean several things:

1) a brother, whether born of the same two parents or only of the same father or mother

2) having the same national ancestor, belonging to the same people, or countryman

3) any fellow or man

4) a fellow believer, united to another by the bond of affection

5) an associate in employment or office

6) brethren in Christ

a) his brothers by blood

b) all men

c) apostles

d) Christians, as those who are exalted to the same heavenly place

In this case, I believe #2 above applies, and the word might be best properly translated 'fellow-men'. These unrighteous saw human suffering, but did nothing to alleviate it, their greatest moral deficiency. This doesn't mean that they could have gotten into the kingdom by doing works, but rather that they had no faith that would compel them to do something for such people. Furthermore, I believe that this lack of faith has a domino effect which creates even more faithless people who wind up in Gehenna. Those who are slighted become bitter in heart, (for which they are still responsible, see Romans 9) and turn to sin and reprobate acts, which in turn results in their rejection of the Gospel and thus their condemnation.

They are the nations after the rapture. Those nations that have supported the Jewish people are the sheep that will be allowed to live on Earth during the Millennium versus the nations, like Iran, who have not support the Jewish people, they are the goats who will go right away to hell.

This passage is referring to the churches, Christians who were able to make it through the tribulation period. Them that are counted as sheep are true Christians who shall receive blessings of God. Them that are counted as goats are Christians who were Christians in name only. They profess Christ and even have signs and wonders to "back up" their claims, but in reality they are not, and shall be cast into hellfire. Thus, this is what Jesus meant when he said, "Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven."

Hi other one,

I answer this in my book, which just went on sale yesterday. It seems odd that you would cut the first half of this parable out, and then try to figure out the second half. Does that mean you already have the first half figured out?

I ask, because if the rapture theory you hold is off the mark, then this parable will not make much sense at all. This parable is actually much tougher than it appears.

The rapture has remained so controversial all of these years because scholars have been stumped by these parables. Have you ever noticed that most scholars stop their study at the end of Matthew 24, after the parable of the days of Noah? Some say He was describing the rapture, while others say it's the second coming, but none of them can prove it. Why not?

The reason is because they have failed to properly interpret these parables. In Matthew 24:3, Christ' disciples asked Him privately a three fold question, but it seems funny that the only part that scholars can agree on is the destruction of the temple. It gets controversial when they start trying to understand the sign of His coming and the end of the world or age. Why? Because these parables have continued to stump our greatest scholars, even after almost 2000 years. The reason is that their interpretations of these parables don't fit what they believe about the end time. Jesus gave His disciples a series of parables that must all be understood together, to properly understand these things. But scholars keep throwing chapter 25 out, which is cutting out half of Christ's answer to their question.

The second half of the parable you have posted here, is answering the part about the second coming, the end of the age and getting ready to enter the millennial kingdom. This is the conclusion of Christ' answer to His disciples. But everything before this passage you posted was all about the rapture, beginning with Christ sending the angels to gather His elect, and all the way to the first part of this parable that you chose to leave out, which also includes the parable of ten virgins between them. People don't see it because it doesn't fit what they've been taught to believe.

I believe my book will be the first book that goes all the way through Matthew 25. These things are covered in chapters three, four and five in my new book. All of these parables come alive and flow like a river if you have the correct interpretations. If not, they appear to be unrelated and lead to dead ends that make little sense apart from one another. In other words, they leave you scratching your noggin.

This is very difficult to explain in such a small space, but the cat's already been let out of the bag. Soon it will be common knowledge.

This passage is Yeshua making it clear to the audience gathered that He IS claiming to be the Messiah.

The beginning of the passage makes it clear...and it's a reference to Joel chapter 3...it's about dividing the Gentiles by how they have treated the Jews/Israel

Those nations/gentiles who fought against Israel will be judged (Zechariah 14:12-17) and those who are kind to them will inherit the Kingdom (Zech 14:16)
