I've been thinking about this gentleman who goes to my church in the wrong way. Every time I have these thoughts I ask God to forgive me and to make them stop. Last night I had a dream about this man and I woke up feeling really guilty. This man is married to a really nice woman who I like and is going to have their first child soon. I have no idea why these thoughts are in my head. I don't even really know this man and because of these thoughts I don't want to.

When I woke up this morning I reasoned with my self that I should stay away from church for a while, but right after that thought the knowledge that God told me to go to this church entered my mind.

These thoughts are WRONG.....WRONG....WRONG.... It doesn't go with what I feel in my heart so why am I having these thoughts? This has to be from satan and his little friends. I'm so sick of them in my life. The only thing that I'm sure of in this situation is that God will use it for good. I think satan is doing this because he knows that in my head is the only place that he has left that he can mess with me. He won't win. He can't steal my peace. My father won't let him.

God Bless You

Jacqueline

How can you stop these bad thoughts? Well, ask the Lord for forgiveness, and then ask Him to help you block out these thoughts. This is the best thing to do. But you may also want to contact some other fellow christians for advice also.

Thank you for the advise. The first two things I do and I do and I do and will continue to do. As for talking to someone in the church I can't do that. My church is a small church and talking about something like this will only make the problem worst. I love his wife. She's going to have their first child and something like this isn't what she needs to hear.

This is so odd. I know the wife, but I don't know this man so why is he in my head. I haven't said more then hi to him or he to me. I need to fall on my face and continue to do so. This won't, can't stop me from learning about my father. My God is an awesome God. In Him will I trust.

God Bless You

it is helpful to take a scribbler, paper and pen and write your feelings. Just write without thinking. Just let it flow - all your feelings. Your feelings will flow through the pen onto the paper for you to see objectively. Your will be surprised to see what happens if you try it. Once the feelings flow onto the paper, you will be released. It works best if you continue with writing so you don't get tempted to go back.

stillwaters is right, I agree with her. Talking with a Christian friend can release the unwanted thoughts as we..

You might think of changing your avatar

stillwaters has been using that for a very long time. You don't have to change - it was my stupidity in not looking at the name but the avatar. Others might do the same though. There are quite a few beautiful cross avatars. I used one for a while.

I'm glad I didn't tell you only things for her. :sweating:

Dear Jacqueline,

This is just my opinion. You don't have to accept it if you dislike it. DISCLAIMER: I am not a christian.

From my experience, we have all sorts of dreams and thoughts that if acted upon would be highly inappropriate. The key to understand this is that not all dreams and thoughts will become action. The link depends on the person. You have control of your actions, even though you might not have control of your dreams. I cannot judge a person's character based on their thoughts or dreams, only their choice of action.

Hope that helps.

Regards,

UndecidedFrog

Yes, I could always change it (but I started off with this avatar when I began using Worthy Boards, which was over 14 months ago. :D)

Jacqueline, We all struggle with these issues in our life, it's nothing new under the sun. Be really careful about running into this man, given the feelings you are having. Avoid converstaions and any kind of contact, dont even look his way if you can help it. I had a male friend at our old church and nothing physical ever happened but the emotional bondage was nothing to wink at either. I went through a long hard time with this bondage, it was the emotional roller coaster ride of my life. The mind games were unreal!

I won't go into all the tangled details, but my advice is run from the appearance of sin, go a mile out of your way to avoid this person. If you resist the enemy long enough he will leave you alone. I didnt resist, and i paid a high price. Looking back i know for this very reason we should have left our church, but now i know that instead of conviction keeping me there it was traditional thinking and deception in thinking God wanted me there that kept me in this situation. It was only by the grace of God that i was kept through it all and God worked everything out to His glory before we left there. This is an evil spirit and it is so appealing to the flesh that it is extremely hard to resist. It certainly was a strong spirit in the church we were in, and it's rampant in most churches out there today. I haven't had to deal with it nearly as much since we left that worldly church, but lust is a stronghold that is most common and most destructive today. It's easier to get bound up than it is to get out!!!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
