Why would it have been better for him not to have been born, if his destiny was in heaven ultimately? And why would Jesus refer to him as being "doomed to destruction" if He would be with Him forever

It was better because of how he would be remembered and the guilt he would feel.

What about the second question? :(

Basically, when he knew he was in trouble, he repented "himself".

I believe that we are all guilty of this to some level. I came to Christ because I was in trouble. I repented because I knew He was the only one who could save me. Judas could have been like the people who wanted Jesus dead. They watched Him die and not onces did they feel remorse about it. They never asked for forgiveness. Jesus Himself asked the Father for forgive for them.

God Bless You

Jacqueline

I agree we all repent based on our knowlege of our sins. We just dont wake up one day and decide to repent. God usally leads you to repentance by convictiion, godly sorrow, and even distruction before we relize hey I need to repent.

I repented because I hit rock bottome and God made me relize that I was a sinner headed for hell and the conviction and burden of sin on my life was too heavy for me to carry. God made me understand that if I did not repent and turn to Him that I would die and go to hell.

And some of us have betrayed Jesus for a lot less then what Judas was rewarded for.

I don't know if Judas went to heaven or hell. It's an interesting question, but I'm satisfied that our Lord and Judge will know the right of it. I'm glad these things aren't my call! :(

A pastor at a church I used to attend years ago believes that Judas is in heaven because there is a scripture in Revelations that says something about the names of the 12 diciples are written somewhere...can't think of the scripture..would have to look it up.

However, some believe that although he was sorrowful that he still went to hell because He didn't seek forgivness from God...

It's a good question, but I think we'll have wait and see one day.

Not up to us to figure out I guess.

But - some lit trivia - according to Dante (in the Inferno), he's with Brutus in the worst part of Hell, which is reserved for traitors.

Yeah, and adulterers, which is basically the same thing as traitors, have the easiest punishment  Wonder why...oh yeah, cause Dante was an adulterer :)

Judas is in hell.JESUS said about the one who would betray HIM,"Woe unto that man by whom the Son of man is betrayed! It had been good for him if he had not been born(Matt.26:24)."Doesnt sound like a promise of heaven to me.In John 17:12 JESUS said about HIS disciples,"I have kept in thy name those that thou gaveth me I have kept them, and none of them is lost ,but the son of perdiction(Judas). The son of perdiction means the son of destruction.

Ac 1:25  That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

Ac 1:16  Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.

Ac 1:17  For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.

Ac 1:18  Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.

Ac 1:19  And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.

Ac 1:20  For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.

Joh 17:12  While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

2Th 2:3

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
