Many of our leaders are trying to move us towards Sodom, but there is still hope. In every state where gay marriage was put up to a vote, it was defeated. We just voted to ban gay marriage in North Carolina. We are in trouble, but there are still some people who believe in Biblical morality.

I completely agree with you. The woman was take from man. As such, he is not fully complete till he is united with his wife, who must obviously be a woman. She is the one who was part of his body, not another guy. That is why the two become spiritually one flesh through marriage. The woman and the man were really one to begin with. You can't have that with two men or two women. Homosexual unions are a rejection of God's order. When God said it was not good for the man to be alone, he didn't create another man, he created a woman.

To be honest, as a conservative fundamental christian I was a little saddened at first. But then I was reminded that the President is just doing what he is expected to do as a politician. He is passing out his support for a civil issue. As Christians we have to remember that things like this were foretold of in the bible, where people would call right wrong and vice versa. Morality is something that is different from civil law and as americans we just have to render to ceasar what is his and God what is God's. Although I believe this country was built on christian doctrines, I think that it has evolved so much and has tried to become so tolerant of other peoples religous views that it seems as if our christian beliefs are under attack. I would say if you don't agree, then you don't agree, but we have no right to disrupt what we cannot control. Otherwise we would be endanger of mixing church and state issues and then we could see a lot problems when it comes to enforcement....just my opinion.

Those that know me, know I am a Christian and conservative, so I don't want to get flamed for my statements.

It's a rhetorical question. Are we expected to force Non-Christian people to live by our belief system? What I mean, is, are heathens expected to follow God's teachings, or should we just leave them to their own self destructive behavior? It seems all the commands were given to God's people to follow, not anyone else.

I know our job is to proselytize to the heathens and bring them back to God. But, are they inviting judgment on themselves by expressing their free will? It just seems that if God's people are following Him and His Commandments, even if there are only 8 righteous in the entire nation, He will save us from His wrath. Now, some people claim to belong to God, but advocate on behalf of the heathens and I just don't understand that. They are either not real Christians, or are completely ignorant.

I think the fundamental issue here is the belief of homosexuality being a sin is a religious viewpoint, whereas the US was very clearly designed with the intent to allow all religions freedom, and a clear directive that the government would not enforce one specific religion's viewpoint over another's.

Because there is not a good non-religion based reason to ban gay marriage I firmly believe that it should be a legal right. Religious institutions still wouldn't have to marry gays.

Ultimately though this has no impact on much of anything. Regardless of whether gay people are married or just living together they will be having sex, right? Nothing is going to change if it's legally binding or not, it's the same base issue. If you view the act of homosexuality sinful it isn't going to get any more sinful if they're wed.
