Is the United States spiritual Babylon??

American exclusivism has become something of a national prayer and attitude these days.

Too big to fail, too wonderful for words, absolutely supreme to every other nation and idea system that every existed and does exist. That's America. At least that's what narcissistic American nationalists believe. Christians squeeze Biblical references to America out of every line of scripture and when they can't make a case for a quotation they read between the lines and create something that God did not intend; spiritual America.

If there's anything further from spirituality, it's America. I'll grant the reader that one.

Not even God is superior to America. That's what we believe anyway. God would never judge America because we're special. God would always bless the land and the people even if they flew in the face of divine righteousness and the Holy name of God. So now we've arrived at another scriptural blasphemy; America is spiritual Babylon.

Most churches in America display the flag of the United States in front of the main sanctuary. When displayed, according to flag protocol, the American flag is displayed on its own right. That means that every other flag, symbol and icon is of lesser importance and is displayed to the left of the flag. That includes the cross - historically representative of the sacrifical death of the Son of God. So we clearly see American exceptionalism proudly displayed at the head of every worship service. God is LESS than America, if we are to hold any significance to symbolism in church. Christian allegiance in America at least is to the flag FIRST, and then Christ.

Do symbols mean anything? Does the cross mean anything? Does the flag of America mean anything? What DO these symbols mean and what meaning do they represent when they are displayed in this manner?

Roll this one around in your head a little. If symbols mean nothing or very little, then exactly how much does the cross of Jesus mean to you? If the cross is supreme and the Bible is the Word of God, then why is America being read into it? Isn't it time to focus on real spiritual values and issues rather than inventing and supporting heresy?

Shall we begin with 50 million dead babies, slain within their mother's womb before they ever saw the light of day?

How about endless war? Twelve concurrent wars at this present time (a list can be provided upon request).

The primary focus of American government is to support the pentagon and its adventures. Do we really need a navy that is larger than the next 17 nations?

SEVENTEEN? Who are we afraid of??

The list is almost endless, but it would be best if I summarized the core of the problem; morality.

America is a moral nation, but so was Adolph Hitler and Joseph Stalin. In those lands and in the mind of those leaders morality was defined by the society.

Christianity declares that morality is defined by God. A man is responsible to God and a man's rights come from God.

Not so in secular society. In such nations, morality is defined by whatever the leadership and the people agree is moral; abortion, single sex marriage, hatred and displacement of the good name of God, WAR, etc. A man's rights, therefore, are defined by what the government allows him to have.

There is no liberty where a nation has forgotten God.

There is only judgment, because when a nation tells God to go away and leave them alone........He does.(*)

(*) Read the newspaper? Mega fires are burning America - RIGHT NOW. Drought is killing Americas crops - RIGHT NOW. Pestilence is sweeping back and forth across the land, the most current being the West Nile bug- RIGHT NOW. Gun men killing people in church, in theaters and on the street - RIGHT NOW.

No wickedness in America? No judgment upon America? No God in heaven? WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO GET AMERICAS ATTENTION?
