Not too many people live in huts. Contrary to popular belief the country is very green (my wife expected brown rolling Savannah, and although we have lots of that, we also have a lot of greenery!) We have a 1st world road system (with the obligatory tolls....) Cape Town has been voted as one of the most beautiful cities in the world Durban (where I was raised), is the biggest port in Africa. Johannesburg is a huge metropolis built on gold, and has the deepest mines in the world (so deep that it gets so hot they are air conditioned) We are a major exporter of citrus fruit, apples, sugar, timber and wood pulp, gold, uranium, titanium, aluminium, diamonds and coal. We invented the process, and produce our own fuel from coal. We did the very first heart transplant. We have the best Rugby and Cricket teams in the world...... Hey, we have crickets in Oklahoma too..... LoL

Wyoming is not much different geographically, but they never developed ski resorts of much of any other business. Utah has slowly been catching up in the last 20 years, especially in the areas north and south of Salt Lake City. Of which im very happy. Yes parts of wyoming are boring, just stretches of nothing, but there are other parts like the mountains and the black hills that are beautiful-and remain beautiful because of the lack of ski resorts, and industrialization, and I personally like it that way. Nothing like two many people to make the great outdoors seem crowded, and more like the zoo.

In some ways there are misconceptions about the South, as well. What about England, Australia, and Canada, I spent a lot of time in Monroe, Shreveport, Baton Rouge, and they were not bad, but the closer you get to new Orleans look out. When I was in Houston we would go home to Florida often and we crossed a bridge in La. I think was about 22 miles long it was all swamp. But we have swamps in Fla. too.
