It is all very well to say it is not about love or hate but a matter of facing reality.

Part of that reality is that Israel is NOT an almighty power! We are strong, yes, out of years of necessity but ignoring the world is NOT being very practical!

The world acts the way it does and whether we like it or not we should at least listen to what is being said.

I am not saying we should bow down to every whim of the Un United Nations, but it would be pretty reckless to ignore everyone.

We can ignore the facts but one of these facts is that we DO DEPEND ON FOREIGN AID!! whether we like it or not

So surviving in this world means acting with common sense and not be a hero like Samson. We know what his end was.

But beyond all this. It is a spiritual battle. If I hate my enemy I have lost the battle!!

Fight them, yes!! By all means, but not with hatred.

I think this is what Yeshua meant by loving our enemies.

Yeah and cowtowing to what the world thinks has been an achilles heel for Israel. No other nation would allow world opinion to shape their policy of self-defense. No other nation would allow the rest of the world to dictate to them how and when they would deal with terrorism agasint their own people. The Israeli government places world opinion ahead of their own people. Israel would have stopped terrorism long ago if they were not beholden to the US. Israel needs to stop living in this delusion that they are a vassal nation to the US or anyone else and they need to start behaving a like a sovereign nation and solve the terrorism problem the only it can be solved.

The world acts the way it does and whether we like it or not we should at least listen to what is being said.

Really... And what are they saying that Israel needs to hear? So far, all they are saying is that Jewish lives are expendable, that Jews should act with restraint while the Palestinian terrorist attacks and cold-blooded murder are painted as heroism?? So far they are equating any act of self-defense by Israel as acts of genocide and slaghter. Some call it "state-sponsored terrorism."

The world is speaking but the world is not speaking wisdom. The world is in the Palestinians' corner and are solidly against any policy that supports Israel's right to live in peace and safety in their own historic and biblical homeland. The world is not saying anything worth listening to.

I am not saying we should bow down to every whim of the Un United Nations, but it would be pretty reckless to ignore everyone.

We can ignore the facts but one of these facts is that we DO DEPEND ON FOREIGN AID!! whether we like it or not

And there you have the problem. At what point does Israeli lives become more important than foreign aid? Do you not understand that the world doesn't have your best interests at heart? Does it not occur to you that listening to them is what has gotten you to the point you are at now??? Listen to the rest of the world that tells you that you have no right to live on your own land? Listen to a world that tells you that your lives are not worth defending? Listen to a world that has you like a puppet on string??

So surviving in this world means acting with common sense and not be a hero like Samson. We know what his end was.

That is a spurious comparison and does not apply here at all. Israel is far and away more powerful and able to end the terrorist threat once and for all. But this irrational fear of public opinion has not only kept Israel as hostages to terrorism, but has served as enabler to the terrorists who have learned that their best weapon is Israel's fear of what some racist columnist in the BBC or New York Times might say.

But beyond all this. It is a spiritual battle. If I hate my enemy I have lost the battle!!

Fight them, yes!! By all means, but not with hatred.

Yes, it is a spiritual battle, but it is also a physical war that you cannot sit around and ignore. It is not about merely "fighting." It is about winning and winning in such a way that your enemy despairs of further conflict. We cannot simply fight; we must fight to win.

Ah yes Shilo,

It sounds so great on paper but we are not living in a black and white world.

I can easily agree with you in principle and would if I wasn't so involved in it all.

I have 6 kids and 13 grandchildren to think about, not to mention larger circles around me.

You say we could have stopped terrorism ages ago if........

Here I disagree with you. There are over 1 billion Muslims in the world, a large number of which want us wiped off the map (I'll refrain from using the inclusive "All").

The IDF is a very good strong army but it has it's limits. I know from personal experience what the media doesn't talk about. It is not pretty. Some of it has been written about inn the media. We are also very advanced technologically, true but here to there is a limit. We do need the US and other countries as allies. Ignoring that is a very close picture to Samson's way.

Talks about destroying terrorism sounds very impractical especially observing how the whole Western world is "so successfully" dealing with it.

You have great faith in our little country, it seems. I do too, or I wouldn't be living in the middle of a hornets nest for 65 years.

So while I agree with your principles I cannot go along with the practical manifestation of those principles.

I promise I will not shed a tear if Palestinians suddenly vanish off the face of the Earth. It is not going to happen.

I do however appreciate your point of view as it forces me to look the problem in the face . I thank you for that.

I'm wondering what we are then to do with Scriptures like this?

Isa 13:16

Their children also shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; their houses shall be plundered, and their wives ravished.

Speaking of the Babylonians who were so cruel to the Israelites.

The only time we were ordered to anihilate our enemies was to do with Amalek

We still have that in our Passover Haggada. "Remember what Amalek has done to you....."

King Saul spared Aggag their king and was punished for it.

Good point. Makes one think.....

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
