hold on just aminute Church, if we are going to post a story, let's get our facts straight, so our yeas will be yeas, the opening post implied that the pastor in the story was a she, later posts have the pastor as a He so i am confused was the Pastor a man or a woman?

Much appreciated, I though it was a male, too.

According to the article, the pastor was a "she".

"...the pastor (who has since been identified as Alois Bell) told Welch's manager at the St. Louis-area Applebee's that the ensuing firestorm had "ruined" her reputation."

Read the article, people. :biggrinflip:

I think folks are confusing God with bad manners and underpaid waitresses. All parties are wrong. Although my sympathies lie with the waitress.

She should not have been fired.

The pastor should've just paid the tip. Anyone who dines out knows that if there are 6-8 people or more in a party, the tip is added automatically. This person had to know that before even walking in and sitting down, and if she wasn't okay with paying what she knew was going to be expected, she shouldn't have ordered food and eaten there.

This is a part of what is odd - the gratuity was automatically taken, so why write a note like this?

But I have to add this. I've heard restaurant hate serving Christians after church on Sunday because they are the worst tippers (no tip to a low tip). Not a good witness, is it?

“A pastor says when she left a snide comment on a receipt, she did use bad judgement, but she did leave a tip,” a Fox News affiliate in St. Louis reports

(snip)

The 37-year-old pastor explains herself: “What [the photo] didn’t show is the money that I left and that we all left on the table.”

Pastor Bell claims she left $6.29 on the table and her credit card was also charged the tip amount. She also says everyone in the party left cash tips.

Apparently a tip was left, along with the comment.

A pastor, who was a part of a large enough party for an automatic tip to be added to the bill, left a note griping about giving the waitress a higher percentage than God. The waitress posted the note on-line. The pastor complained to the manager, claiming it harmed her reputation.

Any comments?

:biggrin2:

lol, comments? Yeah. First of all, my wife was a waitress in a small town and hated working on Sunday cuz when the churches let out and everyone came to the restaurant she knew she wasnt gonna get many tips. The only tips she got from the good church people were quarter tips. Despite the fact that her and the owner of the restaurant were the only waitresses and the place would be filled with anywhere from 30 to 50 people and they got excellent service.

Fortunately, tourists from St. Louis came there too and they were excellent tippers so it helped make up for the church people. I think half the tippers were beer drinking Catholics.

Oh yeah, I forgot second., The waitress should have not posted that on the internet.

Thank you for sharing. Still though, what witness did she think she was leaving behind with a rude comment like that?
