Dan, do you still listen to Pink Floyd??? You said you were a muscian. Have you forsaken your old life, habits, music, etc, or are you still in the world?

Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, Beatles, Who, Hendrix,Eagles, Old Elton John, Clapton, B.B. King,50s Elvis, Stones, James Taylor, Motown.... Britney Spears ...all of the classic rock stuff. I really must say that Pink Floyd was better with Rodger Waters. Without him they are kinda "watered "down. I don't like alternative music because it to me is an alternative to music. I like good guitar work. I also like Nat King Cole and Patsy Klein. I suppose you think I went down to the crossroads? I just enjoy good talent but I don't worship it. Same with Football and Basketball(NBA-NFL).

ILOVEJESUS,

I don't struggle with music. I just listen to it sometimes because I like the way it sounds. I also play it 4 to 5 nights a week for a living along with teaching guitar(35 students) and running a recording studio. Abbey Road by the Beatles is my favorite album. You know about 13 years ago I got out of the music business and refused to listen to anything that wasn't in the Baptist Hymn book. I believe that the only time I can say that the Lord ever said something to me in a super natural way was at that time. Here is what I heard "OK Dan, you have stoped the music thing. So tell me, are you good enough to go to heaven now?" I am sure that all of you are very fine Christian people. I am not a super Christian and I never claimed to be. I do know this. God loves me because he loves me and for no other reason. There are issues in my life that God is dealing with that are far more important than music. I really don't deserve to go to heaven but I will tell to this. I think about Jesus far more than John, Paul, George and Ringo. But still, I am not as advanced spiritualy as most here. I admire all of you for your complete devotion to God.

This Psalm blessed me tremendously this morning. I wanted to share it.

Psalm 37

This is he who received seed by the wayside. 20 But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; 21 yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for a while. For when tribulation or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. 22 Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word, and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. 23 But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty."

Luke 8:10 He said, "To you it has been given to know the secrets F74 of the kingdom of God; but to others I speak in parables, so that "looking they may not perceive, and listening they may not understand.' 11 "Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. 12 The ones on the path are those who have heard; then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. 13 The ones on the rock are those who, when they hear the word, receive it with joy. John Lennon (and his "more popular than Jesus" fandangle

Actually, Lennon wasn't claiming to be better than Christ. He was making a sad but true social observation of what was going on at that time in England. I lived there for a year. Jesus is not that popular there and Christianity seems fleeting at best. There are many things that most of the world's youth find more popular than Jesus. From what Ive read, Lennon wasn't all that comfortable with how popular he and the Beatles had become. I don't worship music or musicians. I just enjoy music and talent.(Black Sabbath Stinks) Nothing more. I love Basketball also. However, the Houston Rockets are not my god. There are many NBA players that lead a open lifestyle that would make a Rock Star's look like that of a alter-boy. I just watch the game.I know I'm not the only sports fan hear. I will say this, it would be nice if somebody famous would step up to the plate and be a good role-model on occasion.

I just keep hearing this!~!!!

I meant to post this the other day and got very sidetracked.  It was brought back to mind today.  It's interesting, because when I first pulled up the passages, I thought I had pulled up the wrong thing................it sounded like one of the OT Prophetic verses, but it is NT!  TAKE HEED.

1 Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you! 2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten. 3 Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have heaped up treasure in the last days. 4 Indeed the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth. 5 You have lived on the earth in pleasure and luxury; you have fattened your hearts as in a day of slaughter. 6 You have condemned, you have murdered the just; he does not resist you. 7 Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord.
