My other favourite is the story of David and his love shown to Mephibosheth the son of Jonathan, grandson and son of King Saul. 2Sam 4.

It helps remind me that you just can't keep a good man down even though you may take everything they have, including half their life away or even their very lives away. It helps remind me that this life is not about my wants and desires, it is about fulfilling God's which is really our only hope of fulfilling our desires in the end. Why does Job scare you to death? God bless, GE To have God chose you as a test subject for faith and dedication even in the worst of lifes storms, we don't see anything Job did wrong to have the hedge of protection lifted so that satan could come in and destroy his whole family and life. Its a scary thought that God would allow satan so much freedom to destroy our life and loved ones, simply to show such an evil character that we will stay faithful in our faith There is an underlying current of Job as you examine his wife... honestly no big loss there as her support techniques were questionable! After the trial God blessed Job with more than before -perhaps a more Godly family etc. Love, Steven

It reminds me of the 1967 Six-day war when the David of Israel defeated three much more powerful enemies. It also makes me realise that when God is with you, anyone can be a David. It helps remind me that this life is not about my wants and desires, it is about fulfilling God's which is really our only hope of fulfilling our desires in the end. Though are two of my favorite also. I love these two stories because we see that in them bad things can and do happen to the godly. But my favorite is the death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. I can't not ever understand how a Perfect God who hates sin so much, could love us so much that He became our sin(s), Hebrews 9:28; II Corinthians 5:21, and than allow Himself to suffer death and rose three days later that I (we) might have eternal life. And before all this Jesus calls us Friend: 13) Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down His life for His friends. 14) Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. John 15:13-14 I wonder to myself God, with friends like me, you really don't need enemies, yet with all my shortcomings I have the dearest and Greatest friend ever.
