The bible says that , If you forgive, your heavenly Father will also forgive. We must forgive.

Are all people whit resentment lost ?

John 20: 23 Says : If you forgive anyone's sins, they are forgiven; if you retain anyone's sins, they are retained.

Luke 6:37 (NIV) "...Forgive, and you will be forgiven."

Mat 6:14-15 (NIV) "For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But, if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins."

Mark 11:25 (NIV) "And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."

What do you think Corinthianz? Are all people with resentment lost? Moved this thread to the Inner Court.

God bless,

Hello ,

Firstly, welcome to Worthy.

I see that you have started two threds almost on the same topic, (Forgiveness & bitterness)

)

Forgiveness is very important in our Christian walk.

Eph 4:32

"And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you."

Resentment is a strong word. A feeling of pain , indignation , insult, even injustice.

If we think about it , ( resentment) plays no role or should not have a place in our daily lives.

Pain , indignation and all things that cause us pain should be taken to the Lord in prayer.

God loves us and we should love others no matter how hard that is or what ever they throw at us.

May I ask?

Is this a problem you are struggling with ?

The problem with resentment is that it grows into bitterness, and it hinders our relationship with God.

Eph 4:26, 30-32 says Be angry but do not sin, do not let the sun go down on your wrath, not give place to the devil. --And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Heb. 12:14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God, lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled;

Even when in our own strength we cannot forgive, we can ask God to fill us with His love for that person. He died for them, too, and hung on a cross saying Father, forgive them, they know not what they do. Ask God for the grace to obey Him.

But if it is someone else who holds bitterness toward you, it is best to let God take care of it. I once hurt another person deeply. I went to her 3 or 4 times and begged to be forgiven and she would not speak to me or look at me. She still has not forgiven me 40 years later, and has alligned my mentors of that day against me as well. Great evil is being done. It is also wrong to take up the offence of another. None of them ever call me. I have called them every 4 or 5 years. They always point out that they are close to the offended person.

Sometimes we do everything possible to live peacably with all men. Then it is up to God. I grieve for them. They have acquired the offended person's critical spirit, which nit picks, and it has taken away their gentleness. I suspect it has hindered the rest of the fruit of the Holy Spirit also. We cease to grow when we grieve the Holy Spirit, and it robs us of our joy.

I do pray that you resolve this issue to the best of your ability, and that you ask God to fill you with His Spirit to enable you to do His will. You cannot control the behavior of others, but you can ask God to change your own heart.

Hi Corinthianz - Hope you're well

I resent that there is so much suffering & I can do so little to address this. I resent that so many folk in pain that I don't know & cannot help. I resent that I work in a place where there is a lot of lying, deceit & untruthfulness. I resent that there is so much hunger yet more than enough to go round. I resent that violence is seen as a solution to so many problems. I resent that a millionaire pays less tax than a pensioner on benefits. I resent that at times there is so much in our world to resent - But my God is always at my side understanding my resentment of so much that is wrong in our life.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
