Ok so here's where I'm at. Most of you already know what I've been through, some more than others. But, recently my family has decided to desert me. After a miscarriage and losing the man I thought I loved who I'd been with for a long while and wanted to marry...he passed away. Now my family is saying my job isn't good enough. That I need to go to Job Corps and get out, or they will "give me a one way ride to the mission".

Yes, I know they can't "force" my to go to Job Corps but I feel I am being strong armed into having no other option. They aren't giving me any time to save $ to get my own place just that every job I've had isn't good enough. THEY FORCED ME TO QUIT MY LAST JOB, after giving them nearly 80% of ALL the $ earned during it, AND letting them set up T.V services in MY name that THEY let go to collections three times!.

Yet, this job (secretary for a senior living center $9.33/hr 35hrs a week) still isn't good enough. At least it's something! Should I stand my ground and hope they don't kick me out or give in to the controlling manipulative behavior and go to Job Corps which I'll never be happy with, then sue them or every penny that went to collections?....I see no guidance from the Lord on this I feel like I'm all alone contemplating the worst is how bad this is for me right now. My parents ultimatum is quit my apparently "dead end" job and go to Job Corps or "get out"...

Where does God come in on all of this? Are you asking God to open your heart to Him? possibly to guide and direct your heart and your steps?

While only having one side of the story, I will say that no parent or family member has the right to rip off another.

I'm a guy, so I deal with things a little differently when it comes to things like this. I'm also a drug addict that Jesus cleaned up, so I know about controlling, manipulative behavior too. It just wasn't family in my case. :) I would suggest you take a few actions while you're praying. In the Bible we see God keeping his word to the Israelites, fighting many battles for them, and giving them victory -- but one common thread in most cases is the Israelites were still expected to suit up and show up on the battlefield, not lounge around in camp while God did all the work. I'm not saying that's what you're doing, but we are expected to do what we can.

I would have a look at Job Corps too. I know several folks who have gone, and there are a lot of options for training there. Its not as bad a some might have you believe. You'll have options available afterward that you would not otherwise have. I only takes a short time to learn what those options are, and the reality is that you are not making all that much considering the cost of living in the Seattle area. I spent a few years in both Seattle and Spokane, so I'm not unfamiliar with that. :) I'm not making much more than you are, and its not easy keeping an apartment and staying up on the bills, etc.

See what your options are for getting help at a shelter where you can stay and save up money to get your own place. This is important, especially if you're being ripped off by the folks at home. There are plenty of shelters in my area that will help folks do this, some even require you to save up to 80% of your earnings while there. Have a chat with a social worker about getting some free legal help over that TV service business -- it sounds like identity theft if someone is signing up for service in your name, and you could possibly bring charges. These things may take some time, but its worth the effort to find out what options you have and it will rob the family of the power of "or get out" when you know you have a place to go. It might be a shelter, but it would be better than putting up with all the manipulation and enabling bad choices.

Don't allow another human to force you to do something that you don't want to do.  Research all the assistance options you have in your community.  Find other fellow believers in your community who could assist you in some way.  Perhaps you can share an apartment with someone or rent a room from someone.  There are many other options besides joining the job corps.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
