however, that doesnt address my issue of having to pay $1200/month for prescriptions. for some reason, some of you seem to have presumed that i am a homeless person or a welfare type person. i come from a middle class family. that's my point. the health care system isn't bad for the poorest. they can get on welfare. it's those of us who make "too much money."

Read the thread I posted in controversial issues on drug development. The root of this problem can be traced back to excess government regulation.

my real point is not so much about my one problem, although in a way it is. my point is about the health care system that isn't benefitting the middle class. the premiums are outrageous, then if you can pay them, the deductible is like $1000, so you might as well not have it at all. then the insurance companies always have 10,000 excuses on why they limit how much they pay on claims (mega life and health is the worst--they never have paid a single claim in 7 years w/o me having to fight for it so don't get coverage with them!). you hear about families going bankrupt to pay for treatment. bush talked about seniors choosing between groceries and medication. but younger people do that as well. i dont know how many times i've had to eat peanut butter!

You are missing a big point here I think. Our country was founded on the ideal of property for individuals. People do not have a "right" to health care as much as it pains me to say it. The problem with our health care system isn't the prices, it's the cause behind those prices which is government regulation.

this is an intricate political problem. i'm not asking any christian to come up with a solution, just to at least admit that this is a problem in our country that our politicians should be addressing--all of them, both democrat and republican. i am still convinced that God is moved in his heart about this problem that affects a lot of people, even if it doesn't effect you personally.

And that is the problem, people see it as a political problem, but it's not. It's a problem that is caused by excess government and will not be solved until the government gets out of health care. Private solutions always work better than government ones, because they are more efficient.

The government is only good for three things. Protecting Life, Liberty and Property.

Greetings OA,

How can you possibly say that a righteous Christian government has no business caring for the poor?

Since when did we acquire a "righteous Christian government?

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

The Christian Right is heavily influencing politics and concern for the poor does not seem to be very high on their agenda.

Greetings OA,

The Christian Right is heavily influencing politics and concern for the poor does not seem to be very high on their agenda.

You DID NOT answer my question. You made a fiat statement that we have a "Righteous Christian Government", now please support that.

In the event you do not know, or have not read another post in which I spoke of this, please listen:

I live in Salem, Oregon, a very liberal state. I currently donate to our "local" Union Gospel Missions. This Mission provides shelter, food and clothing for the homeless, the poor and otherwise desolute. It has absolutely NO connection with the "government". But not only this, almost every church in the area has a ministry to help out the poor, the orphan and the widow either individually or in combination with one another. NOT ONLY THIS, but we have SEVERAL, well, at least 3 that I know of agencies, 1 private, and 2 state run that provide food to any who are willing to sign up for it who are low or no income. The State sponsored agencies ARE NOT dolling out state dollars though, there are drives to collect food and food is donated by most of the big grocery stores in the area. They can simply "write it off", and thus are willing to participate.

THE WHOLE UNITED STATES IS THIS WAY! You will NOT find another nation more giving than this United States. To say that the "religious right" has influence in the government, is pure nutsoid. Think of Clinton and many others that have been raised to that position, do you think the "religious right" had anything to do with electing them? Or had infuence in their operation of the government? You are crazy if you think so.

This United States may not be the best or the most ideal in which Christians may live, but it certainly is far out in front of the next country in which Christians may live.

Please pray for this Administration. We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against powers and principalities in heavenly places, and it is YOUR JOB to be on your knees battling these entities and let the President do HIS job of doing the physical warfare.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
