This is occurring while Congress is in recess.  Tends to be how the Administration does things.  Should be an emergency session of Congress to veto or authorize these strikes.

We're going to fool around over there and touch off a firestorm. And there will be no turning back once it's lit.

You could be right about that.....the Bible tells us the fate of Damascus.

This article refers to an upcoming 48 hour missile barrage on Syria with 100 missiles.  That doesn't sound very limited to me no matter what the planners  are saying.

U.S., Britain prepare for 48-hour missile barrage on Syria

A U.S. and British attack to punish Syria for using chemical weapons would see the allies launch more than 100 missiles in a blitz lasting up to 48 hours, according to military insiders and diplomatic sources.

A Royal Navy submarine would join forces with U.S. warships in the Mediterranean to fire Tomahawk cruise missiles in an attack that is likely to begin within days.

And then there's the headlines all over the web saying the rebels were told there could be an attack as early as a few days by a U. S. official.

It's really strange that they are telling everyone their attack plans?

Seems like a lot of sabre rattling going on.

100 missiles in 48 hrs? Thats one every 30 minutes. That is quite limited considering how much they could shell in that time frame.

For once I agree with the US, UK, France and the Arab league. Any country who uses chemical weapons should be taught a harsh lesson. Did anyone see the footage of children convulsing and foaming at the mouth?

These weapons are in very real danger of being stolen and one explosive in the center of a suburb or small town could wipe out the population. This stuff is straight from the pits of hell, and needs to be thrown back there. If Syria used it, they must be punished. A message needs to be sent.

Air strikes.

Because the best way to defend a civilian population from chemical weapons is to blow them up instead.

That should go in a Hallmark card.

they are not indiscriminate strikes but limited to Assad's military infrastructure.  Tomakawk missles are good for those kinds of strikes.  We are not hitting them with ICBMs.
