The Bible offers no evidence that Jesus spoke in tongues. There are three occasions  in the book of Acts where speaking in tongues accompanied the receiving of the Holy Spirit Acts 2:4,10:44-46 and 19:6.This is the only place in the Bible where speaking in tongues is an evidence of receiving the Holy Spirit.Tongues was a miraculous gift that had a specific purpose for a specific time.It was not,and never has been, the only evidence of receiving the Holy Spirit.

Read 1 Cor 12, and 1 Cor 14. Then, if there is something you did not understand, ask a specific question from that. Most of what you want to know can be answered from those. To fully answer your question here, would be very long, and party speculation. Mush of what people say about tongues does not come from the bible. What is said that is not biblical, is of little interest to be personally, is it to you?

I just want to know if speaking in tongue is heavenly or earthly language
  I Cr13:1
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

do you guys think it's biblical that every correct born again must speak in tongue,

I Cr 12:30 Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

does those people that speak in tongue understand the language they where speaking at that moment:
I Cr 14:18,19
I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:
Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by m
y voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue

are those who speak in tongue more spiritual or closer to God than those who do not,
I Cr 12:28
And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

does every christian who receive the holy spirit speak in tongue,
I Cr 14:5 I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

is there any special benefit in speaking in tongue
I Cr 14:4

He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

I Cr 14:22
Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

Dear Jerry,

God Bless you this day,my Brother....Many people interpret the Scriptures from the Book of Corinthians many different ways...rather than simply requote those verses I will just give you my interptretation.....Paul says in 1Cor13:1that there are tongues of men AND of angels....as in the day of Pentecost in the upper room many of them spoke in tongues...this was a sign for the unbeliever as they heard foreigners(who did not speak their native tongue)begin speaking in their own language that  they understood....this is  tongues of men(earthy language).......and then Paul speaks about speaking in tongues that is between you & God for your own edification(unearthy/unknown),this is the tongues of angels(he says you may or may not be able to interpret what you are saying.     Now ,if a person is speaking for the edification of the church in the tongues of angels(unknown language to men) then there must be someone present to interpret that....so as Paul is saying that when a person prays in tongues(as he did)that it is the Holy Spirit helping us to pray(as we do not know what we ought to pray for)....groaning & utterances,I do not believe necessarily means speaking a language ...

The benefit would be that you are praying for what the Lord would have you to pray & I think also, being it is only between you & God that the enemy can not understand what you are saying(just my thoughts)and that would be a clear advantage Jerry,I do not believe that a person who speaks in tongues is any closer to God than a person who does not,God knows our hearts & knows our prayers without us even speaking.

Those of the Pentecostal denomination believe that speaking in tongues is the outward evidence that a person has been baptized of the Holy Spirit Acts 10:46,Scripture does support that but Paul also says that not everyone receives this gift....This can be ascribed as the outward sign that the Gentiles received the indwelling of the Holy Spirit on that miraculous day in the upper room with the original Apostles & other disciples

Jerry, again, this is my interpretation considering your questions about "speaking in tongues".....I do pray the Holy Spirit lead you & guide you in all truth,in the Name of Jesus

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
