Actually I didnt reiterate them.

What I meant was that you admit that not all conversation is edifying, or that Jesus is seen in it. And the standard that has been given is that conversation should be edifying.

Fellowship (in my opinion) doesnt include continual rants about how rotten my country is. That is draining, not uplifting.

In your opinion. And I respect your opinion. In fact, I agree with it when it comes to that stuff. But your opinion, or my opinion, or so-and-so's opinion should not dictate our rights. That is all I am saying. That, and that we have sacred freedoms that I will fight to the death for.

God Bless

You're right about the nasty side of professional sports, WIP. It's not that I'm glorifying that part of sports when I join in with the conversations in that thread, it's just that those threads are not causing a divided body.

Somehow, I actually made my point with out messing it up! :taped:

Thanks for understanding what I was trying to say.

If you could only teach my Mother-in-law...... :noidea:

(Just kidding, She's a wonderful lady)

Perhaps we should start a thread in the sports area dealing with the seedy side of pro sports?? :taped:

I stand with you one the freedom of speech issue, but I give credence to one point, though. This is not a Constitutional matter, it's a posting board owned by a person. I think George does a pretty good job of keeping the line open to free speech. Better than I would. I'd be yanking all kinds of stuff and turning dials like the Wizard of Oz. But, in the long run, it belongs to him, and Probably more-so, to God Himself. He's ultimately in charge of all we do anyway. I'm sure George runs it as he believes the Lord leads him.

If it was a pure free speech issue, there would be a whole lot of nasty stuff here, so it needs to be cleaned at times.

I'd be more worried if people were editing my posts and putting what they felt needed to be there, instead of just deleting the whole thing.

Blessings,

t.

DON'T IGNORE THIS POST!

Two of the greatest minds of our century gathered for a debate in front of college students. One was an ardent athiest, the other a brilliant Christian fundamentalist. As the debate went on, it was quite obvious that the Christian was destroying this athiest's every point. At the end of the debate the Christian had obliterated the athiest's points away and humiliated him in front of all of the students. The athiest hung his head in shame and defeat, walked off the stage. Later that night God required the life of the Christian professor. While standing at the judgement seat, expecting to hear of the good he had done in defeating the athiestic causes, Jesus looks at Him with tears in His eyes and said, "You won the debate but lost the soul."

Where there is truth there is God. This is a fact. However, this does not mean that God is seen. God is only seen when truth is exposed in love. Likewise, the truth that is suppose to be exposed is that of the Gospel...not of man-made plots and schemes. Are we so suprised that governments run by fallen men engulfed in their sin nature are corruptable and possibly corrupted? Must we seek the depths of the conspiracies to confirm that our government might be evil? Does it require us to read lengthy articles of civilan and soldiers dying in gruesome ways before we realize that we are in an evil world? I would hope not.

Jesus tells us that we will hear of wars and rumors of wars. Nation will rise against nation, people against people, and tribe against tribe. Yet we are not to be suprised, or worried. Why is this? The simple truth is that God is in control. Thus, why waste our time trying to uncover the plots of men or to expose the nakedness of our political figures when we are to expect it anyway? Instead, we should be sharing the truth of the Gospel instead of talking about how wrong this war is or how evil our government is. What soldier is lead to Christ when you say he committed a war crime? What idealistic eighteen year old in army fatigues finds the love of Christ in a conspiracy theory?

Of course, we assert that it is a free country, we have a right to say what we want. This is true. In the United States we have almost an unlimited right to speak what is on our minds. However, while it is our right as a U.S. citizen to say what we want and in the which we please, it is our responcibility as Christians to tame our tongue as to not offend the brethren or the lost. Our founding fathers tell us it is our right to speak our mind, yet James tells us to tame the tongue. James Madison tells us the government cannot infringe upon our speech, but Jesus tells us that God will hold us accountable for every word which we speak. So we have this beautiful right given to us by the government, but a huge responcibility placed upon us by God.

Be honest with yourselves. Are these conversations fruitful? The moderators have been extremely consistent on closing unfruitful threads, both in a spiritual and political manner. In fact, more spiritual threads that were bearing no fruit have been closed than political threads (none of which have produced fruit). So I ask you to search within your heart and ask why this is. Is it because they disagree and want to limit your speech, or is it because they are holding you accountable in accordance with the Bible? Remember, while the government will lead us to believe we can say what we will, God will hold us accountable for everything we say...so be extremely careful.

As far as "freedoms" are concerned, this is a privately owned board. This is not a government property. George and the Mods are responsible to God for what is allowed to be posted on these boards. Because this board is privately owned, the owner has the right to decided what can and cannot be posted here. It is not a 1st amendment issue.

If you go to someone's house and start talking trash, they are within their rights to tell you not to discuss that issue in their home or to eject you from their home and prohibit you from returning, if you continue to spurn their request. They have the right to decided what can and cannot be said in their home. It is no different here. George is within his rights, on a privately owned board, to change the policy as he sees fit and is led of the Lord.

Christian Soldier: When in three weeks you return to Iraq, you will take my thoughts and prayers for your safe return. I really hope that you believe that I am sincere when I say that. May Christ watch over you and bring you home safe. God speed to you!

That said, I cannot at the same time agree with the reasons and policies that sent you there. I believe that the truth behind these reasons and policies are terribly flawed and so I descent.

Ted and Shiloh, you are 100% correct. There is a difference. My feelings and beliefs are all based on and addressed to public issues of course. I was thinking "public, general" when expressing my views. I was not in any way saying that a private owner had the same obligation as the government. I realize that it is not the same. :) Perhaps a private board could have some more specific guidelines about what is not allowed and that would make it easier and cut-and-dried. And then people can decide if they would like to participate, based on the rules. And I agree Ted - George does a more-than-great job with this board. :b:

What benefit do conspiracy theories have in the Body?

I will say this once more, and that will be all. If the truth is that we live in an evil empire, then convincing the body of this, and they they should not be supportive of such an empire, is inarguably profitable.

2 John 9-11. John writes, "Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds."

QED

That is all. Mods, make you decisions, we will have to live with that, and thank you all for the worderful boards you have given us.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
