I mean no offence, but Jesus is NOT the reason for the season. Jesus has nothing to do with Christmas. Christmas trees, yule logs, mistle toe all have pagan origins, and pagans have been using these things to worship false gods hundreds of years before Jesus came to earth, and in fact, read Jeremiah chapter 10 talks about decorating trees, and it says in verse 2, "Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen....." Verses 3 and 4 says, "....... for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the ax. They deck it with silver and gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not." Now some of you might say, "Well that is the old testament", and I say, where in the new testament does it mention anything about worshipping the Lord with trees or celebrating His birth with trees?, in fact, where does it even say that we are to observe the Lord's birth every year? The bible gives no date of His birth, and it certainly wasn't Dec. 25th. There is nothing in the bible that even says that the early church observed the anniversary of the birth of our Lord and Saviour and celebrated it. What does a decorated tree have to do with Jesus anyhow? We know what the word "merry" means, it means happy, "joyful", and the word "mass" or mas" means "death sacrifice", and Jesus has absolutely nothing to do with mass, for He is alive for ever more. He offered His body once and for all as it says in Hebrews chapter 10, and He does not reoffer His body, so Jesus has nothing to do with mass, and when a person says "Merry Christmas", they are basically saying "merry death of Christ", or "have another death of Christ" unknowingly. What does a fat man in a red suit and flying reindeer have to do with our Lord and Saviour? NOTHING. Christmas is not a holy day, it is not christian. If christians are going to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour, I don't think the Lord would be displeased, as long as we leave out the pagan customs {trees, yule logs, mistle toe}. John 4:24 says, "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." I think we ought to celebrate His birth in spirit and in truth. Christians shouldn't celebrate this pagan event the way unsaved Christ rejectors do, "Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye seperate, saith the Lord...." {2 Cor.6:17}. We as christians shouldn't borrow pagan customs to celebrate the Lords birth every year, for I think it is an insult to the Lord to do so, and we should heed God's word, "Learn not the way of the heathen", we shouldn't even practice them. Parents, especially christian parents shouldn't lie to their children about some fat man in a red suit who rides in a sleigh with 8 flying reindeer who doesn't exist. Even though we are not commanded to observe the birth of our Lord, and even though there is no hint in the bible that the early church did, I still believe that the devil uses Santa Claus to lure children away from Jesus Christ on this so called holiday. I believe that Santa Clause is the devil's joke on Jesus, because you see a man in a red suit saying, "ho ho ho, merry Christmas, {ho ho ho, merry death of Christ}. I know I probably opened up a can of worms with this post, but hey, truth is truth. My wife and I told our two small children that Santa Claus does not exist, we didn't feel right lying to them. We still buy them gifts, but they know that mommy and daddy bought them. I believe if we are going to erect something in our home and nail it down with hammer and nails, it ought to be a cross, and not a decorated pine tree. Yes Jesus Christ was born in the city of David, and was layed in a manger in swaddling clothes as the bible says, but decorated trees, Santa Claus, mistletoe etc., what do they have to do with it? nothing. When our church sings carols, or when my family sings carols, we sing the traditional carols like, "Hark the Herald Angels Sing", "Joy to the World", "Silent Night", not "Deck the Halls with bows of Holly", or "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer", and so on. Some lady told me last year that we need to keep Jesus in Christmas, and I told her that Jesus was never in Christmas. As far as most christians go, Jesus is the reason for the season, ok, then lets celebrate it without doing it the pagan, heathen way. I am not trying to ruin anybody's Christmas, but ever since I found out that it is really a pagan thing a few years ago, I felt the need to tell other christians, and if anybody doesn't like what I posted, just check out the origins of Christmas.

IreneM,

Sorry if the truth offended you, I know a lot of well meaning christians don't know the origins of Christmas, and I thought I'd share it with you all. Again, I'm sorry if the truth offended you. I do suggest you ask the Lord what He thinks, since it supposedly has to do with Him.

Irene,

I'm sure that when people say Merry Christmas, or "Have a blessed Christmas", they aren't meaning any harm or disrespect to the Lord, for the Lord knows their hearts, and if they say it without knowing what it actually means, they are not sinning, but now you do know what it means, and if any christian has a problem with what I said, that is between them and the Lord, and if they want to disrespect the Lord and continue the practice of pagan, heathen customs, after they were enlightened, go ahead, but you all were told the truth, and the problem with christians today is, if they hear the truth, they get offended and angry, because the truth inconveniences them, and gets in the way of their plans. Whether you like it or not, Jesus has nothing to do with Christmas, and that is a fact, sorry.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
