17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness:

I left out the last part of the verse; it is not part of my questions I plan to ask.

Q.1

Did angels have freedom of choice ( free will ) ? It appears so in this verse.

It seems pride was the choice.

Q.2

When Christians are in Heaven will they have freedom of choice ( free will ) ?

I said two for one but now have a third one.

Q.3

If Christians will have freedom of choice ( free will ) could they be banned from Heaven?

1. At the very least they had it at one time.

2. I'm sure we'll have free will in Heaven. God didn't make us robots to begin with, so I don't see why we'd be that way after death. If He wanted that, He could've just made us that way an bypassed all this.

3. The Bible says once we see Jesus, we'll be like Him. Would Jesus ever be banned from Heaven?

1. this how satan became the devil from free will pride; this was in the verse

2. ok if we have free will then the same could possibly happen to one of us that happened to satan.

whom was kicked out of Heaven.

3. we will be like Jesus in that we have a spiritual body. we wont be part of the Trinity. I think the Trinity is a higher echelon than we will be; with free will is it not possible to do wrong?

i may be misreading your post but it seems if we have free will, the possibility is there, to do wrong so if no one gets banned for wrong thinking or doing what consequence might one incur? or are you saying we will have free will but we wont be able to do wrong as the free will angel did?

1 John 3:2

Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is.

Being like Jesus is a whole lot different than being Jesus.

Revelation 21:4

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.

This verse tells us there will be no more death. We know that the wages of sin is death. So if sin were still present, death would have to be as well. It also tells us there will be no more mourning, crying or pain. Certainly if we were to commit sin and get kicked out of Heaven, that would surely cause mourning, crying and pain at least to us, right?

1 john 3;2   ( what we will be has not yet appeared ) this part of the verse seems to match up with Luke 24 Jesus appeared to them in a human body ( not a spiritual body ) Thomas who had said earlier he must touch the wounds of Jesus to believe. This makes me believe we will not have human body in Heaven as some here believe. It makes me think we will be like Jesus in that we will have a spiritual body, and want love and harmony all around us without any sin present. That is how we will be like Him. None of us will ever, I dont think, be as good, as sinless, as brave, as honorable, as Holy as Jesus; He created us I do not see us ( the creation ) attaining 100% equality to the Creator. So yes in many ways we will be like him but not all ways. getting back to freewill Jesus has proved he can overcome the dark side of freewill. We have proved that we can though. Again i come back to freewill caused one to leave heaven already.

Luke 24:36-46

[36] While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you."

[37] They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. [38] He said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? [39] Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have."

[40] When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet. [41] And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, "Do you have anything here to eat?" [42] They gave him a piece of broiled fish, [43] and he took it and ate it in their presence.

Revelation 21:4   and death shall be no more

I accept this as a promise from Jesus.

Im not sure if this means 1. we have freewill but can not make mistakes ( like pride which brought down satan). or 2. we have free will and can still make mistakes because of it.

ps Thanks Chloe for your thoughts. I admit im a cantankerous ole boy, but im truly not trying to be here. This is something I do not have settled in my mind I appreciate any thoughts or verses that might help me better understand this area.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
