The Implausible Christ

In the comic books and movies, the hero never dies, and if he does it is only after he has exacted his vengeance upon his foe. In the movie

He was simply doing his fathers' will. With a snap of his fingers he could have cured the sick & purged all evil like the world views as a hero. A true hero dies for the sake of righteousness.

Why do you assume Him the underdog? There is no greater enemy to mankind than the idea of death, yet Christ reveals the final victory..........over death itself. He Is the Champion!

Romans 6:8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him, 9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Sounds like a Superhero to me!

Suzanne, Christ fits the idea of an underdog from a humanistic standpoint. This thread was to show that the reason people don't believe in Christ is that he defies all our preconcieved notions of Him.

By today's standard Jesus Christ is not even close to being a hero. But then again who's standards are more important, man's or God's? My choice is God's standards. At least then I know where I'll be going when my time is up here.
