Is survival a selfish ambition? God put that instinct into everyone.

You have confused our individual responsibilities as christians in a society with the responsibilities that a GOVERNMENT has. The government has the right, nay responsibility, to protect it's citizens. The rules (or should I say non-rules?) of war apply when you've been attacked by a foreign unit and over 3,000 people are killed....not to mention the damage it did to countless millions more people in economic damage. THEY are the cause of any extreme measures our GOVERNMENT uses to locate and destroy them.

Now, if you want to debate about whether christians should unite and go destroy them then I would agree with your premise that christians should never go start a war....but this is the GOVERNMENT of everyone in the USA, not just christians.

Our nation has a civil process for choosing our leaders and Bush is the President by the choice of most Americans. If you don't like this particular choice then feel free to work within the rules towards a better one, but please stop making your judgement arbiter for the American people.

So, to sum it up nice and tidy...the GOVERNMENT is operating under a different "torah" (biblical instruction) than an individual or unified group of christians.

We are to submit to those in authority over us who have the GOD GIVEN authority to wield the sword (Romans chapter 13) except in cases of clearly breaking the "torah" (biblical instruction) ourselves. Protecting your neighbor's life, even unto your own death, is is a requirement of that same "torah"(biblical instruction).

When Yeshua said you are to "love your neighbor as yourself", He is quoting from the verse in my signature (Lev 19:16-19) which is regarding our civil and social responsibility. He is not giving new wartime rules for governments. Yeshua was submitted to the authority of Rome as an Israeli citizen....and yet never said a word about their wickedness though they were spreading a totally pagan anti-christ religion that was probably ALSO fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan at the time among many other subdued nations.

"Give unto Caesar....." would certainly have been a hard saying to His audience back then...

Think about that for a second...

Is America more wicked than the Roman Empire at this time? Maybe you could make the case but that doesn't change the fact that the disciples and Yeshua were never seditious against the government ruling Israel at His time...Rome.

We (christians) are not to go and take someones life because they've hurt us personally but we are to submit to the rule of these same civil authorities even unto death (as Yeshua did to Rome) until all the kingdoms of this world have all become the kingdoms of His Christ.

In that day, He takes final vengeance on everything ever done.

He will Himself be the most destructive force in the history of the universe before this is all over with and His judgement will be right when He destroys the wicked from tormenting any of us again.

The ACLU...hmmm protects the rights of who..let's see, terrorists, rapists, child molesters, the very ones who want to take In God We Trust off our money, and One Nation Under God out of the pledge. Sorry I don't listen to them and I'm not listening to you... I like it...Anti Christ Liers Union I'm also concerned about the rights of Americans but don't kid yourself the ACLU could care less about rights. They want to push their ultra liberal agenda on all Americans. And I'm going to get very real here, I'm more concerned about our men and women that are putting their lives on the live everyday in our military then I am about the rights of the prisoners. These people who would in a heartbeat kill us if they could are getting lawyers paid by us the tax payers. Our prisoners in other wars didn't get that. Ask John McCain who spent close to 6 years in a Vietnam prison camp or any American who spent time in prison in a foreign country while we were at war. Know what I find interesting? all the ones speaking against this war, our president what this country does....has never spent one day in uniform. I have never been in the military, but I come from a long line of veterans, grandfather, father and husband. Hero's every one of them. I tried to get into the military, back injuries kept me out. But you can bet if I could have I would have been there. You made another statement. No war is just, those are your words..what would you have us do? In WW11 we were attacked first, over 2500 men killed. On 911 over 3000 Americans killed, What would your response have been??? And if you think other countries are so peachy...why aren't you there speaking against their government? Just wondering.
