I do not think they care about civilian deaths. Israel has given them plenty of warning to leave before the bombing. Hamas has told them to remain. If they cared about civilian deaths then they would try to minimize the deaths, not capitalize on them.

Besides, Israel has proof that the majority of them were not civilian deaths despite what hamas etc have claimed.

Palestine Activists take civilian deaths much more seriously, and generally assign responsibility to those who dropped the bomb or fired the rocket.

No, they only care when Israel has had enough of having to live under hundreds of rockets being fired on their cities day after day after day.  These "activists" have a selective moral outrage that doesn't give a rat's butt about any rockets being fired into Israel.  They are non humanitarians.  They are enablers for terrorism.  When rockets or other forms of terrorism are committed against Jews, they are silent.  When Hamas murdered three Jewish boys, the activists were silent.   They represent the typical hypocritical double standard that is so prevalent in the world.

They care about the Geneva Conventions. Or human rights.

No, they don't.  Hamas violates the Geneva convention over and over and over particularly when it comes to their methods and how they treat their own people, but the activists really have nothing to say about that.   When the violence is Muslim on Muslim, their silence is deafening.   They only care about injured and dead Palestinians when they can pin those deaths on Israel.

Or military occupation, as those are viewed by them as bad.

Occupation is a myth. There is no military occupation.  Maybe you and these activists need to study up on what constitutes a military occupation.

That's why they criticize the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, or civilian deaths, because they care about people who are suffering.

No, they don't care about the people who are suffering and they try to blame the civilian deaths on Israel.   Israel isn't targeting civilians and israel does all it can to minimize civilian deaths.  But Hamas does all it can to maximize civilian deaths for the sake of propaganda points.    If they cared about civilian deaths, they would hold Hamas accountable, but they don't.  So they are liars if they claim to care about the Palestinians.

Saying you don't think they really do care because if they did they would support Israel is simply a strawman.

It's not a strawman and evidently you don't know what a strawman is.  If they cared about civlian deaths, they would support Israel because Israel is the only one who is trying to minimize them.  Israel is the only one sending them humanitarian aid.

The human rights crisis in Gaza is the result of Hamas' fervent desire to wipe Israel off of the map.  Every civilian that dies because Hamas refuses to allow their people to move from danger zones and as long as Hamas puts little children in harm's way, they bear the sole blame for those deaths.  It is Hamas that needs to be rounded up tried and executed for crimes against humanity.

Liberals are such hypocrites.   There are civilian casualties in every war that has ever been fought.  There is no such thing as a sanitary war.   Liberals who protest Israel would expect their countries to take the exact same defensive countermeasures to protect them.  They would expect their government to protect them the same way Israel is trying to protect its citizens.

It is the height of hypocrisy and arrogance to hold Israel to higher standard than we hold our own governments to.  If our citizens in the US were victims of rocket attacks from Mexico, the US would be in Mexico and we would be taking out the launchers and we would be striking in any location from which those rockets were being fired, including civilian locations.  We  would not target civilians, but we would not stop our attempts at self-defense because Mexico suddenly started using human shields.   The deaths of those people would be Mexico's fault, not the US's fault.

Israel is in a defensive posture.  They are responding to attacks on their own citizens that are still ongoing.   Israel didn't want this fight, but Hamas called down the thunder and all of the casualties suffered on the Palestinian side are needless but are the result of Hamas' barbarism.   Unfortunately, liberals are out of touch or if they do know what is going on, they attempt to skew public perception to make Israel out to be the villain despite every attempt by Israel to minimize civilian deaths.

The job of the Israeli military is to protect the Israeli people. Their job is not to protect the Palestinian people.  Israel has done far more for the Palestinians than any other nation would have done in a similar situation.   Hamas doesn't care about the Palestinians; they only care about destroying Israel.   All of the foreign aid they received went to killing Jews, not to helping the people they were elected to represent.   Hamas needs to be exterminated as the vermin they are, and new non-radical leadership needs to be put in place in Gaza.

Israel needs to start some pr stuff on their own too.

http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4552553,00.html

You think Israel doesn't have its own PR machine working? You think the IDF doesn't have its own Twitter? You think AIPAC isn't in god-mode-engaged lobbying mode right now?

But let's be honest: Israel doesn't really need any PR. So long as our government kowtows to Tel Aviv the Israelis could kill ten thousand, they could execute children in the street, and they would have no reason to fear.

I'm thoroughly surprised they paid a single penny in resitution for the victims of the USS Liberty.

(My guess is only two posts will pass before I'm accused of being a pro-Hamas, pro-Isis Muslim atheist.)

And there it is. Anyone who is critical of Israel actually hates Jews.

Since you know my thoughts and my heart, let me ask a few questions. Do  I pray for just the families of the dead Gazans or the families of the dead Gazans and the dead Israelis? Do I pray that both sides will abandon war altogether or do I pray that Hamas will be free to shoot rockets into Israel day and night?

I await clarification so that I'll finally know what I think.

No, anyone who displays kind irrational conspiratorial hatred of Israel that is present in your posts displays a hatred of Jews.  I am critical of Israel, but I criticize Israel for what it deserves to be criticized about. Your criticisms are just rooted in hate.

I am not pretending to know what you think.  I am just going off the hatred that drips from your posts.   Your post was anti-Semitic and that is just the fact of the matter.

Shiloh, did I say anything false in my first post? Did I lie? Did I direct my criticism (as much levelled against our government as theirs) at Tel Aviv or Jerusalem?

I bear no hatred willingly, and when I see that hate has taken root there I remind myself that I have been admonished to love all people. God alone knows that I do not want to love those Hamas members who kill Israelis, and I do not want to love those Israelis who kill Gazans. But this isn't about what I want. This is about God's will in my life.

You can accuse me of anger, pride, despair, and a host of other sins - sins I will answer for. But don't you dare accuse me of hating Jews or Muslims or atheists or anyone else. I examine my heart. There is no Jew, no Greek, no free or slave, no man or woman, only Christ Jesus. And in my mind if I hate the least of these, I hate Christ himself.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
