Are the modern Israelis God's people?

Should we, as christians, not pentacostilianbaptisitianscatholicsnonsensehypocrits, just christians, back everything they do? If they are God's children, just as they were in the OT, then should we take a different view on them?

Do you think so, Daniel? I think that that is the important question.

There is no reason Biblicly to believe that God does not still have a plan for Israel, that He does not hold true Israel dear to His heart. Therefore, as God's people should we not also embrace them? For that matter, as God's people, should we not embrace all people for the sake of the good news?

Only those who have accepted Christ as Messiah. These are the True Israel wherever they may be found in the world.

Should we, as christians, not pentacostilianbaptisitianscatholicsnonsensehypocrits, just christians, back everything they do? If they are God's children, just as they were in the OT, then should we take a different view on them?

Because of God's love of the early Fathers, namely, but not inclusively so, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Israel is still loved even though they rejected their Messiah and were culpable in His murder. Jesus prayed for them: "Lord forgive them for they know not what they do."

So God has allowed another day at the end of time where Israel's heart will be softened to be responsive to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Just as with all people, we should be actively evangelizing the Jews, for there is a promise with their reception of the Gospel which you can read in Romans 11.

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

Since when has hamas or the "Palestinians" ever had any authority regarding the Word of God? Who cares what they think?

The question is really, are the Jewish people still the chosen people? The answer to the question is yes.

Psa 135:4 For the LORD hath chosen Jacob unto himself, and Israel for his peculiar treasure.

Psa 132:13 For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation.

Psa 105:5 Remember his marvelous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

Psa 105:6 O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.

Psa 105:7 He is the LORD our God: his judgments are in all the earth.

Psa 105:8 He hath remembered his covenant forever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.

Psa 105:9 Which covenant he made with Abraham, and his oath unto Isaac;

Psa 105:10 And confirmed the same unto Jacob for a law, and to Israel for an everlasting covenant: Psa 105:11 Saying, Unto thee will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance:

God has an everlasting Covenant with the Jewish people, and He cannot and will not rescind it.

This is how God feels about Zion/Israel:

Zec 8:2 'Thus saith the LORD of hosts: I am jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I am jealous for her with great fury.

Zec 8:3 Thus saith the LORD: I return unto Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem; and Jerusalem shall be called The city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts The holy mountain.

God is a Zionist.

Do we back everything modern Israel does? No. Israel is not perfect, and there have been times when Israeli Jews have committed war crimes. There are a lot of policy decisions that go on in the Knesset that I would disagree with as well, such as the current disengagement plan in Gush Katif (Gaza).

There is a difference between unconditional love for Israel, and unconditional support.

Throughout history God has not backed everything they have done so why should we. At least once, as I remember, He wanted to kill them all....

If they are doing what is right, we should back them..... if not then we should tell them so and not stand behind what they are doing but also not turn our backs on them altogether. God never did that and we should not either.

As far as I can see in scripture, as long as individuals from the race of Israel have accepted Jesus as the Messiah promised, they are Christians! The only thing is, there are some things desribed in the NT that the writers instruct the Israelites to do which the Gentile believers were not required to do. See Messianic Jews for more details--they can explain far better than I. I had it explained to me by a Christian Jew, but because it did not apply to me, I unfortunately did not commit it to memory!

No. No. No view at all. Because the LORD raised up stones to fullfill the promise to abraham.

Mt 3:9

and do not think to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.

Lu 3:8

Therefore bear fruits worthy of repentance, and do not begin to say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham as our father.' For I say to you that God is able to raise up children to Abraham from these stones.

So you see HE raised children to abraham to fulfill the promise out of every nation tribe and tongue including israel.

In CHRIST JESUS

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
