like i stated before kelsc NO i dont want to lift up man but to lift up the name of Jesus and what the Spirit has done, now that is being lined up with God's word. I have not tried to glorify myself but to humble myself and share what great things God has done! I can do nothing apart from Him. Amen and Amen!

I understand what you are saying. I was only sharing that I felt the same way as Other One...having concern that it can be an easy thing to start walking down the road of self-glorification (and I gave an example that I had seen of that happening) if we are not careful. I do not disagree with you in regards to sharing what the Lord has done and working for Him and Praising Him! I will do that with you all day long!!

Hey, I'm very new to this site. I just found this thread tonight.

I have a desire to lead others to Christ but don't really know how to get started.

I have talked to people, mentioning God and so forth but I haven't gotten that much further.

I'm afraid that once I start talking to someone that person might ask me a question that I might not be able to answer. Sometimes people just want to debate when they hear God mentioned. I'm afraid of making awful mistakes with my words while in the process of witnessing.

Tell us more of your stories and go into detail of what scriptures you share, ect.........

wanting to learn

Stepoffaith, welcome to Worthy and Bless you for wanting to share the Gospel of Christ!

There are so many ways in which we can share the good news to others. One of the first things to remember is that the Holy Spirit will be with an honest heart and will help you through. Another point is that many are lost in the world and what you will be saying to them is foreign to their hearts. With that, satan doesn't want you going around and spreading the Word and will put any stumbling block he can in front of you. You'll be talking with someone and every distraction in the world will pop up suddenly; the kids will be tugging at their moms skirt, the dog will bark, the phone will ring, the food on the stove will be burning, every thing imaginable will happen while you are trying to talk. Try to recognize these distractions for what they are and work through them.

I will suggest that you get involved with your church's Soul-winning program. Match up with someone that goes out regularly and simply observe how they do it. Learn all you can. While they are talking with someone, be in silent prayer for that person as they try to reach the one they are talking with. Be asking God to reach that one person you are witnessing to. Like anything new, there is a learning process. Don't worry about the door being slammed in your face. It's going to happen regardless, but trust me, someone out there right now needs you. Someone out there is waiting for that knock on the door. Someone is searching for Christ and waiting to hear the Good News!.

One way to go through it with someone with your Bible in hand is called the "Roman's Road" method.

Ask someone in your church about it. It's God's simple plan for salvation with verses to show people the way to Christ.

If you can't get anyone to explain it to you by tomorrow, PM me and I will try to lay it out for you.

Above all, remember that you are a worker in God's service. Be in Prayer about anything in your life that may need attending to. Clear your heart and remember that it is the lost person that matters most when witnessing.

Bless you and may God reward your efforts!

Post your results, good or bad here so that we can see how you are doing, and maybe we can learn more to help our work!

GB!

I went out again last Thursday and had a pretty good conversation with a couple that was coming to our church fairly regularly, but have dropped off some lately.

My friend and I went to their house to check on them and see if they needed anything or if their was any problems we could help with. They said they had been busy and out of town during the holidays and that they would be back in church on Sunday.

Lord I pray they make it. We know that they are moving in April, so we hope to get them in church until then so that they stay on the right path when they move to their new town.

Sorry, no stories of winning a lost soul this week, I wish I could report more, but the Lord moves us where He needs us the most, I reckon.

See you next week!

Amen, Brother.

To me, this is one of the best threads for many reasons. I don't know why it hasn't been picked up by many more, but I think it will in time.

Just keep typing out the experiences.

It can only help.

I'm sorry for not getting back lately. I have been sick with the flu for the past week and I'm afraid I haven't been a very good witness with all my whining and complaining about being sick. :noidea:

The one thing I can relate here is the witnessing to Undecided Frog and FogLight right here on Worthy over the past few days.

Maybe there is something we can do better as far as witnessing goes. I'm not sure, but I don't intend to give up.

May God reach them tonight!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
