Hi, i wonder if there is a solution that is immediate for me. Basically i have off days when i'm not as strong as i can be. Many emotions overwhelm me and instead of tackling them head on its like i give in to them. I can't stand to feel such negative emotions and self-pity. I feel depleted and every other negative emotion that there can be. I need God's continuing help for what i am struggling with. I know i should pray more, but everything seems like such an effort. I could do with a total transformation in myself which hasn't completely happened to me yet due to certain things in my life that i'm still dealing with. I havn't been totally set free and this is what i desire. I want to be closer to Jesus and please Him in everything i do but i just feel like i keep falling short. I need to be set on a new path with Him although i have been through the desert and wilderness on my journey with Him.

Any suggestions ? Would be most appreciated.

Hi Sumner, I can provide some suggestions: to be totally set free you have to believe what Christ did and where he is now, not only did Christ die to set you free from the bondage and captivity of your sin but he rose and is now seated in heaven having all things under him, ruling in the hearts of those whom he has regenerated. To believe and walk in that revelation is what will be liberating for you. To know that you can call upon him your great High Priest and King for guidance and strength and right perspective every time you start to give in to your emotions.

Continue to read the Word, for the Word is truth and it will guide you and teach you , emotions change continually but the truth of God's Word stays the same, it's the only thing that is consistent. It will be an anchor to your soul that will keep you grounded when the waves of emotions roll.

Thanks, that is really encouraging to hear. Every day is new and i think i need to humble myself before Jesus. I am just tired of making the same mistakes for instance instead of going to Him when i feel pain i turn to other things as a distraction when it is Jesus i need and to be constantly in His Word. Thank you again.

You desire the right things and your heart is in the right place. So that is already a great start. You have passion for Jesus... the enemy wants you to give in to his desires and not the Lords. We have all been there. Just keep trusting in Him... He is the only way to true peace and freedom. So many times I had to tell the enemy NO... and when I did, Jesus came right in to my rescue. Strengthening me and refreshing me in His presence.

Hi Summer.  I have witnessed these times first hand and have come to realize that during these times, God is working deep within me, showing me what He wants to rid me of.  As humans, our first instinct is to depend on our emotions as if they have hidden reasons and we need to seek them out.  When we accept Christ, He creates in us a new creation, giving us the mind of Christ.  Knowing these two realities, I have found that when I begin to fall into the old man, I stop and give this time to Christ and lean on Him fully, rejecting these thoughts and attacks.  It is hard at times, even after years of doing so, but the more I walk through these valleys, the easier they seem to traverse.  It is then when I realize that this is due to fully relying on Christ, sort of like the poem Footprints in the Sand.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
