I hate Wal-mart, I will spend more money on somethings at other stores. The only bad thing is with a family of 6 and basically a one family income we do need to shop there as they are the cheapest.

It's all about the Unholy dollar talking. I've learnt that people will do anything and I mean anything to get a bit extra (or even a whole lot more extra) money in their dirty little hands. So why would big corporations be any different?

Just start trying to find large corporations who have a Social Concience. I'd love it if you can name them. It would be great if we could all find Christian Companies who do the 'right thing' and we could go out of our way to support them :)

And Walmart pays their employees well.....

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

do they really???????

hmmmm

better ask the employees around this area..... there are 5 supercenters and a couple smaller walmarts with in 30 minutes of my house......

they have chased out smaller businesses......

they do not have what I need most of the time, and the stores that did have what I needed are no longer in business....

womens cloths are rediculous.... if you are a zero to an 8 or 10 you might find something that is conservative, but mostly the clothing is too revealing.....

my wife and i do not shop walmart for cloths at all, cause they do not have what we need..... too slinky too revealing, sized wrong , ( loose in the back side and too tight to even get past the thighs and such ) very uncomfortable....

they are set for the teen market not the over 30 market.........

they are set for the sex market, not the christian market.....

i can go on what i dont care for with walmart,

go get a belt sander, and they dont even carry the sand belts that go with it...

get a battery operated tool today, and try to get parts for it a year from now....

get a Price Pfister Kitchen faucet from walmart, and spend 90 bucks on it, and have the cheap spout break, you can not get a replacement spout, but have to have it taken out and taken back to walmart to exchange the entire faucet.... the parts are run on a separate production line from the normal line of Price Pfister Faucets...... thus parts are not available...... ( besides the rubbers that go inside it and maybe the cartridges.... )

go ahead and buy that 15 dolllar faucet, pay 40 buck to have it installed by a plumber, then when it starts dripping in two to three weeks, have the plumber come back take it off ( cause there are no parts for it ) and you return it while the plumber waits for you to get back, and then he reinstalls it for another 40 bucks ( that is if you dont take too long returning it )........ spend 95 dollars on a 15 dollar faucet when the plumber could sell one from the truck for 45 bucks and have parts on hand for 10 bucks less.....

go ahead and buy them cheaply made things, I carry faucets that have 100 year drip free warrentee ( factory ).......... that is a life time faucet ( no it is not moen )

You know Mike, you make a good point.

I bought some Abu Garcia fishing reels in Wal-mart a few years ago for a low price. Great deal!!! THEN I found out that Abu Garci, like most of Wal-mart suppliers I am told, makes two level of quality. The reels you find in a Bass Pro Shop for instance are of better quality than the identical looking reel sold in Wal-mart. An Abu-Garcia field rep told me that the Walmart reels have less ball bearings. Is it true? I don't know for sure but it sure seems to be so.

Wal-mart beats up their suppliers just as all the other major discount centers do. Home Depot is just as bad. My company refuses to do business with Home Depot for the very reason that the risk is high and the margins are low. The ONLY way you can succeed is by cutting corners...something we refuse to do.

Wow. In a lot of places I'd say that $9.50 an hour is a pretty good wage. Of course you have to take into account that in order to barely earn a living in California, you have to make a minimum of $15 an hour.

Can't say I love Wal-Mart, but in a fairly small town it's the cheapest (usually) for most items. One thing that gripes me though is I have to pay 2 dollars extra because I wear XXL. Doe's it really take that much more material? I think not and I seriously doubt that I will change my mind about that. Then again, look at K-Mart, I went to three stores one day in the same town looking for an item, I noticed on several of the items, none of the stores had the same prices! Besides, they have Martha Stewart representing their store items. K-Mart has pretty much lost my business because they have a liar and a person convicted of financial related crimes still representing their company.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
