God Himself is our Strength (as well as our Refuge): "GOD is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea..." (Psa 46:1,2). Coming back to the topic at hand, Christians do "belong" in this world (though not of it) for a number of reasons: 1. We are given the responsibility to ensure that the Gospel is preached in all the world, to all nations, and to every creature (Mt 28:18-20; Mk 16:15,16; Lk 24:46-48). 2. We are "salt" and "light" in a corrupt and dark world (Mt 5:13-16). 3. If we truly know our position in Christ and before God, we are the only truly free people on earth (Jn 8:36) therefore we can help all those in any kind of bondage to be free. 4. We have a job to do, just as Christ had a job to do (Lk 4:18,19): (a) to preach the Gospel to the poor (b) to heal the broken-hearted © to preach deliverance to the captives (d) to give recovering of sight to the blind (e) to set at liberty them that are bruised (f) to preach the acceptable year of the Lord 5.
