ODD HAPPENINGS IN FALLUJAH

by Dahr Jamail

"The soldiers are doing strange things in Fallujah," said one of my contacts in Fallujah who just returned. He was in his city checking on his home and just returned to Baghdad this evening.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, he continued, "In the center of the Julan Quarter they are removing entire homes which have been bombed, meanwhile most of the homes that were bombed are left as they were. Why are they doing this?"

According to him, this was also done in the Nazal, Mualmeen, Jubail, and Shuhada'a districts, and the military began to do this after Eid, which was after Nov. 20.

He told me he has watched the military use bulldozers to push the soil into piles and load it onto trucks to carry away. This was done in the Julan and Jimouriya quarters of the city, which is of course where the heaviest fighting occurred during the siege, as this was where resistance was the fiercest.

"At least two kilometers [1.2 mi.] of soil were removed," he explained. "Exactly as they did at Baghdad Airport after the heavy battles there during the invasion and the Americans used their special weapons."

He explained that in certain areas where the military used "special munitions," 200 square meters [2,150 sq. ft.] of soil was being removed from each blast site.

In addition, many of his friends have told him that the military brought in water-tanker trucks to power blast the streets, although he hadn't seen this himself.

"They went around to every house and have shot the water tanks," he continued. "As if they are trying to hide the evidence of chemical weapons in the water, but they only did this in some areas, such as Julan and in the souk [market] there as well."

He first saw this having been done after Dec. 20.

Again, this is reflective of stories I've been told by several refugees from Fallujah.

Just last December, a 35-year-old merchant from Fallujah, Abu Hammad, told me what he'd experienced when he was still in the city during the siege.

"The American warplanes came continuously through the night and bombed everywhere in Fallujah! It did not stop even for a moment! If the American forces did not find a target to bomb, they used sound bombs just to terrorize the people and children. The city stayed in fear; I cannot give a picture of how panicked everyone was."

"In the mornings I found Fallujah empty, as if nobody lives in it," he'd said. "Even poisonous gases have been used in Fallujah

So what?

First of all...why would anyone trust a muslim from Fallujah to give an honest report?

Aren't these the same folks who dragged the burnt bodies of 4 americanCIVILIAN CONTRACTORS through the streets before hanging them on the bridge?

I use the term "report" loosely because really all we got was a slanted assortment of opinions.

The only fact in this report is that we cleaned up the neighborhood. Everything else....EVERYTHING else is merely a hostile witness making unsubstantiated accusations. Did you get this from Al Jazeera or the BBC?

I am past the point of caring how bugs are exterminated. A million of them aren't worth a single American soldier.

Why don't you give us a report about how these people treat their prisoners? Or how they fear the will of their own people in free elections? What about how they treat each other?

In the meantime, I'll play a sad song on a small violin for anyone who didn't heed our warning (for a month) before we went into Fallujah.

So you dont trust the US govt, but you trust a muslim's weblog. I dont trust anyone's blog. Dont beleive everything you read on the internet. Im not sure, but this may fall out of the allowed topics, per the conspiracy thread rules.

Well that is very good news.....

what you describe here would be the things that would happen if we were to follow the guidelines of cleaning up an area that Dupleated Uranium had been used.

There are many of us that have been very concerned about the use of these munitions and have pitched a fit in places of authority.

If this is really happening then count your blessings for our military are doing exactly what they should. They are protecting both the general public and our own military people.

So give thanks that we are doing what we should be doing for a change. DU is very scarry to me if it is not properly cleaned up.

If what you post here is true and we are actually doing this. Who can trust anything coming from Iraq right now, and I don't mean that in a negative way that all people are untrustworthey. You just never know who is saying what and why.

Thanks, Other One for making the same point I would have: That the US is showing a great deal of care for even an openly hostile civilian population in cleaning up the areas hit by 'depleted uranium' ordinance.

That is just another terrific example of the humane qualities of 'We the people of the United States of America.' What a contrast between THIS in time of war, and the deliberate slaughter of Christian civilians in New Jersey. Islam...what a great religion!!!

I see your point.

I know my cousin and nephew,  but no one else in this board does and anything any of us hear is 2nd hand.

I would like to request that anyone who is willing will pray for my cousins recovery.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I will KatyAnn. I am sorry for your cousin, and I do hope that he has a full recovery. War has been doing that to good men since time began. He will be in my prayers.

May they heal and move on to the lives that the Spirit would have them lead.

Three cheers Yod. Who would trust a Muslim for the truth? War a sin? No. You know the saying "Freedom is never free" I fully support our military and our president. Theres my answer, like it or not.

For anyone who has been following this issue they know that this weblog only confirms and verifies the facts. This is not an isolated account.

As far as any human being compared to a bug, I think that is a sad remark to come from the mouth of a follower of Jesus Christ and believer of the scripture that teaches us that man was created in the image of God, not rodents.

Dehumanizing muslims and stigmatizing them as liars is not the way to address the issue. The real issue here is, is our government corrupt? The answer is a resounding, YES!
