Even the Roman Cath. church did not dogmatically declared the Apocrypha to be inspired until the 16 th centery.

The Apocrypha could help Rome to defend its doctrine against growing Protestant critism.

Where in scripture does it say that the Apochrypha is not scripture? Its a legitimate question since there is doubt whether or not it is scripture...

Jesus and the New Testament writers did not treat the Apocrypha as inspired, through the NT quotes virtually every book  of the OT,there is not a single quotation from the Apocrypha .

Many Christian leaders in the early church spoke against the Apocrypha.

The RC church did not dogmatically declare the Apocrypha to be inspired until the council of Trent,ever heard of priest T Father H.J. Schroeder?    (16th century)

Catholics still use the original Bible.

The Books were never added, they were actually taken away.  Your Bible is missing books.

Let me see if I've got this straight. The Protestants' version is a subset of the Catholic version?  If that's true then perhaps as a starting point the common set of books (i.e., the subset or Protestants' version) ought to be utilized in this discussion.

Did you ever hear of Jerome. Origen,Athanasius and Cyril of Jerusalem? These were the Chr. leaders who spoke against it.

I am problaly not as good in history as you are, my information about the council of Trent says that it was in the 16th century, but that does not make one of us better then another, what matters is that we believe in the same God, do we? Can we maybe start with this?

We believe in the same God.  That's a fine start.

By the way, canon has been debated through the years, parts of the New Testament were even cut out of the Bible by Martin Luther including James and Hebrews among others.  This doesn't mean that debate makes the scripture uninspired.  Indeed, it begs the question, what makes scripture inspired and who affirmed which scripture was inspired.  See the early councils for the list of canon and you will find it is exactly the same canon in a Catholic bible.

Jerome put together the Latin Vulgate (of which parts of the King James Bible was translated from) and if you weren't aware, the Latin Vulgate contained the Apocrypha.
