How long? Minutes, weeks, billions of years...? If God is eternal, and time is measured, wouldn't God exist outside of time?

Yet the question was about billions of years passing before Creation-week... it just stumps me when do we begin a timeline for God? I doesn't seem doable. I start the timeline when God said, "in the beginning" which was the 6 days of creation. Before the beginning of time, God existed. Time started when He created. I just found it curious what God might have been doing before that..?

As to what God was doing before that, I don't know why but I couldn't comprehend an eternity, year after year, never ending going into the past of God just sitting around. Until I believed God exists outside of time, and if true, that anything is so infinite as to exist outside of time, well, my understanding of that just melts down and I have to be content that I can't possibly understand God. So please, anyone wanting to correct me, please do. I just don't read anything stating where God created this formless earth, before the 6 days of creation. Amen... that's where I'm sitting too; Humbled by the Majesty of an Eternal God which I can't begin to fathom rightly. Yet for some silly reason, as I understand it, He loves ME... go figure. Guest Teditis
I thought that weight and matter were needed for gravity to exist... Since God is a weighty, matter... I would have to assume that time began with God.
