Super Jew,

Free Will is illusionary. The presence of evil is simply God allowing a very limited free reign of man. Even our thoughts are directed by certain things. I cannot think like someone from India because I different expiriences than them. When its all boiled down, Free Will is non-existant. What God has not predestined nature has.

Well I can't agree with you there. When God first created mankind, He gave him a brain to make decisions with, if He had not then man would be a robot. It was his own choice to eat from the wrong tree.

Rev4:11, Thou art worthy O Lord to receieve glory and honour and power for thou hast created all things and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

So from that I believe we were created to glorify and to worship HIM. Now you can't argue any differently with what the word says,

be blessed,

eric.

The key to knowing our purpose is understanding our/your relationship with him. Our Father is just what he says he is, our Father. Being his children, for what purpose do you think we were brought into being? Slaves? To serve a master? How about pets? To entertain him when he gets lonely? I don't think so.

We are his children which he brought into being out of love. A love that is perfect and in such abundance neither time nor space can contain or stifle. We have a Father that loves us, and those that are his children love him. Our Father expects us to behave ourselves and to do what makes us happy that is not against the rules. Pretty simple.

Forgive me S.J. my brother, but I must disagree on this:

Free Will is illusionary. The presence of evil is simply God allowing a very limited free reign of man. Even our thoughts are directed by certain things. I cannot think like someone from India because I different expiriences than them. When its all boiled down, Free Will is non-existant. What God has not predestined nature has.

Free will is essential in our relationship with Our Father. What Glory is there to his name what is not done by will? What glory is there to him in that which is done in fear?

Ephesians 2:10 says we were created to do good works for God.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

That only explains our creation in Christ, not the purpose for being created to begin with. It is dealing with our spiritual rebirth. It simply means "molded" into Christ. Why would God create us to do His works? Why would that be the primary reason? Again, that is useless. It all boils down to God wanting to demonstrate His love...

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Mark 16:15 says we are to go and preach the Gospel.

2 Corinthians 5 something says we have been given the ministry of reconcilation.

Super Jew,

QUOTE

You've wasted time chasing this rabit trail. Say all you want about Free Will, but do so in another topic. If you want to actually deal with the issue of love, be my guest (as you've really avoided it). Any further post concerning Free Will will not warrant a response from me.

That's a bit terse, isn't it mate. Surely others are allowed to voice their opinion on "free will". After all you started this thread on Why were we created, or suchlike. Well creation does involve "free will" so what's your problem. Are we not allowed to voice our opinion or do we have to take your word for everything.

YIC,

eric.

Sorry to give the impression that I was trying to hijack your thread, mate, How stupid of me. I should have realised that you are always right, even if I do happen to disagree. I'll just have to go back ignoring your posts.

cheers,

eric.

Sorry Tess.

I believe that with without free will we have no purpose. Again I ask, what glory does our Father receive in worship that is done our of fear or requirement? Surely he expects us to fear and respect him as any father does. But is not our love for him that much more precious when it is by choice?

We are made in our Fathers image. Even though a statue made in his image would bring him glory could it return love? I believe we are alive to not only bring glory to him, but to return his love.

This question is one we should all pray about. This question seems akin to a child asking their father, "daddy, why is the sky blue?".

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
