Big Steve, Constant, Shelby, & others in such similar jobs, ministries, etc.

A BIG THANK YOU!!!!! Thanks to you all that keep us safe by guarding those that can be a risk to our safety. We appreciate what you do, especially with a Christian attitude. You all seem to have the right mindset to your duties. I know that it is not easy to strike a balance, but you all show that you can do your jobs with professionalism, and with Christian compassion.

God bless you and keep you safe, and use you to glorify Him in your positions. In tune with Hill Street Blues' Sgt. Phil Esterhaus, "Let's be careful in there."

YIC,

Joe.

Hi

Just thought I'd share a little with you all. I'm writing to a prisoner in Ca. I'm also new to this, but it has been so far a very uplifting thing. At first he was puzzled as to how I got his address. And I don't really know how the prison ministry did get it and told him that. A few weeks later someone puts a bible outside his cell. He has no idea how that got there, and didn't know for sure if it was for him. His cell mate wasn't interested so he took it. Over these few months he has gone from being thankful for mail to a very onfire christian. Was just baptized a week ago. And I've been blessed to hear how the Lord has worked in his life. He has been in and out of church. Same as he has been in and out of jail. He said most of his life he has been incarcerated and now is 50. And is quite honest about fearing being released for he is secure behind bars. And he isn't anywhere near being paroled.

It isn't my writing to him that would be credited. That was just a start. Now he is under Kairos ministry. I don't know what that is or where they are located. God bless all of you who have taken on the ministry. And all of you who work with this diffucult job.

Jacee,

Sounds like God has used you, and apperantly others to bring this man to Christ. Praise the Lord, that you went on with this, even though you must have been leary in the beginning given the circumstances.

YIC,

Joe.

P.S. Praying for you both.

There is this one guy who has been in the brig for a few years and he is so smart. He is a bodybuilder and a well educated man. He is about my age,25, and he has about 5 more years left in the brig. We talk alot about bodybuilding, nutrition and the sort. He knows pretty much everything there is to know about the life style. He reminds me of rain man! He talks about being a personal trainer and nutritionist and opening up a gym when he gets out. My husband and I love talking with him. We had no idea why he was in here. One of our Gunny's told us that he was the biggest ecstacy dealer on the east coast! Hmm... really didn't want to know that information because now I try not to treat the prisoners differently but the same. He seems like he is sincerely trying to rehabilitate himself and I have a hard time with forgiveness when it comes to scum like that but, he is such a good guy. My question is: How do I bring up the Lord to him? I don't want to scare him away from it but I want to help bring it to him. Any suggestions?

does he go to any bible studies or services at all? Maybe you could bring it up in relation to that, ask him if he plans to continue that on the outside. From there you could go deeper into the subject, depending on how the conversation is going. Ive found sometimes once that subject is brought up, many of them are willing, even eager, to talk about it. You just have to have the right moment to bring it up.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
