What I think is so great about this forum, is that there are women here who have been "delivered" into freedom of the Spirit. Holy Spirit. I have been in other forums and to mention some of the things that have been said, you would think that you had just committed the unforgivable sin. So, God bless you all!

And I am not putting other women down who want to continue on with being submissive to their own conscience. For that is really the heart of the matter. My conscience is clear about whether I am free to do whatever the Lord would have me do. Other women see this differently. I cannot change your understanding, nor you mine. Is a matter of what we see. So am hoping my words aren't offensive for that is not the intent of them. Is like Paul said, one may observe a day, another not. Whatever we do, we do unto the Lord. And personally if the Lord is not speaking the message out of whoever's mouth be it man, or woman, I don't want to hear it.

The most admirable pastor I know is a woman. She believes divine healing is for all today if we just receive it. But, she not only believes it; she walks it. And the Lord has rewarded her faith with His touch, time after time. From MS to cancer. She is a quiet natured woman, but the power of Holy Spirit is there, and she has revelation of His word. Plus, she is an encourager to both men and women for them to fulfill their call, and election.

I still wonder how Deborah managed to rule over the men of Israel as she was one of the judges..........

is that not being in a place of Authority?  was not she in Authority over men as well as women?

also,

where is the church?  is it the Building we go to fellowship in?

who is the HEAD OF THE CHURCH?  the pastor?

or is the Head of the Church Christ Jesus.

Mike,

I am going to have to stop reading your replies, because my eyes keep welling up with tears when I read what you write. God has given you such a heart for him and a heart for the hurting. He has given you such a sensitivity to the voice of the Holy Spirit. You and I share so much in common in our passion for God and for his people. I feel your passion in the depths of my soul!

I was reading the word during my quiet time this morning, and I thought the passage applied, so I am going to share it here:

I Thes 2: "You know, brothers, that our visit to you was not a failure. We had previously suffered and been insulted in Philippi, as you know, but with the help of our God we dared to tell you his gospel in spite of strong opposition. For the appeal we make does not spring from error or impure motives, nor are we trying to trick you. On the contrary, we speak as men approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. We are not trying to please men but God, who tests our hearts. You know we never used flattery, nor did we put on a mask to cover up greed

I am an evangelist and i preach in the prison system in north east texas. I want to inject a few things When godmade man and woman he did not give us different spirits. we have the same spirit. so when man feels the call to preach it is much like the same for a women. But for me it was different. I was in a period of fasting and my girls were small 3 and 5 and god showed me in the halls of a prison and showed me standing in the cafeteria of a prison preaching to guys in in uniforms with guards. In august of last year i got to go to that prison and experience dejavui. For all the people who still do not think that their were women preachers in jesus day go to Romans 16 read it good verse 1 right out of the shute ( cowboy lingo it's the texan in me) is sister phebe. verse 3 is siser Aquila. verses 12; 15.

I do believe that some prophesy is preaching by i am one of joel duaghters and i run in to the oposition all the time at the jail with my baptist brothers to the extint that they do not want to be in the same room with me it does not bother me my only justice is that some day they will be judged like they are judgeing me. Did you hear about what happened to jesse duplantis!!! He used to believe like the baptist about juanita bynuam and he was at her conference helping as she was laying hands and he got to close to her and he was slain in the spirit. they said he got up a believer. I know who i am in christ jesus. in christ love-ang

Ang,

Well that is truly wonderful! But I don't believe that preaching the gospel is the same as teaching, according to the context of the verses given here. My wife preached the gospel to me when we were still courting. And I believe that it is the duty of everyone in the church, male or female, to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

I stand with Christ free servant and jacee on the issue at hand God gave me all these gifts(of the spirit) and callings for someone else; not for me. For the gifts and callings of God are without repentance. Romans 11:29. I am not goin be guilty in the day that he comes back and i have not used them for him. Their go for the same token i know that i carry a large task to standing and preaching and bringing the lost to christ and that he will look and make sure that i did just as he Christ called me to do. You see i take it serious. No i do not get justice in usurping authority over man when i preach or teach as you callit but i am carrying out what i feel that God himself has called me to do. in christ love his servant -ang

This is a christian forum and i see alot of women posting threads on here quoting scripture and giving advice not only to the men but to the women also a bit confusing. I have heard some say this is their church so what do we call the ladies on here quoting scripture you know men are going to read. How many read this one? :emot-hug:

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

This is not a church, it is a discussion forum. Some may consider it a "church" for themselves, but it is not scripturally a church, thus, this point would not apply. The wonderful women here are not in any spiritual authority over any of the men. There is nothing wrong with men and women discussing scriptures and having conversations and giving advice. Nobody that I know of said that women aren't allowed to quote scripture or give advice. It has nothing to do with trying to keep women down or dominate over them. It's supposed to be about what scripture has to say about the subject. Our feelings are not the issue.

Keith,

Actually, I think hisgrace brought up a valid point. Bear with me here just a second, ok? Actually, hisgrace, I was thinking this one myself and my husband concurred with me. Keith, what is the church? Is it a building? NO! Is it a local congregation? Sure! Is it the body of Christ? Absolutely!! Are we Christians on here the body of Christ? You bet!! So, when we meet together on here and Christ says that where two or more are gathered together in his name he is in the midst of them, then would not that comprise the church? YES!!

If I am free to prophesy on here and to teach and to share the truths God is teaching me and you, as a man, feel free to share in that discussion, but then you, as a man, would not allow a woman the freedom to do the same in your own "church," is not that a contradiction? Why would it be ok here and not in your local congregation? Is it because there is no structure here? But, we do have some structure here, do we not? Are there not people who monitor our conversations? So, in essence, they are in some sort of position of spiritual authority over us (loosely, I know).

But, even that aside, the bottom line is that I, a woman, am prophesying and teaching and counseling and exhorting and encouraging other believers here in the faith and many of them are men. So, if you truly believe it is wrong for a woman to do that, then why do you participate in these discussions? Why don't the men on here ban discussions with women? I really see this as a double standard. And, if I, a mere woman, have the freedom to let the Holy Spirit speak through me here but if I were in a church where I did not have that freedom, then is it any wonder some people would consider this their church? Why do many people leave churches? A lot of them leave because they get more love in the world than they do in the church.

My husband and I were just reading a book about this subject tonight. It is by Chuck Swindol (my favorite author) and it is called "Dropping Your Guard." You should read it some time. He compares our churches to untouchable glass Cathedrals when they need to be more like local bars (figuratively speaking), meaning they need to be more like a hospital for the hurting. Do you know the place people get hurt the most? In churches!!

Amen!

From the very beginning of the church in the first century Satan has been on the attack.  He first attacked the church outwardly, trying to tear the church apart from the outside through Rome and through the religious leaders of that day.  Then he turned to attacking the church from the inside, causing many saints to be misled by doctrines of demons, which were the various pagan teachings of that time.

The larger issue in the church today is Satan

CFS,

Have I written in this thread that women could not prophesy? In fact, I've said quite the opposite. Please re-read my responses if you are having trouble understanding the points that I have made.

Also, with regard to this statement:

Do you think that God could not speak to you through a woman if he could speak through a female donkey to Balaam?

Are you comparing women with a donkey?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
