I am not trying to be rude, but are there any Catholics in this group? I was very disturbed reading about whether or not St. Teresa is in Heaven, if she was a believer? I am trying to decide if this group is where I belong. I am a devout Catholic and most of that thread was Catholic bashing.

Welcome to worthy ,I was raised catholic and though I attend a non denominational church now I sometimes will still go to mass as well for communion ...it was always my favorite part so I still feel that pull sometimes because its beautiful to me.

Shortly after beginning work in Calcutta’s slums, the spirit left Mother Teresa.

“Where is my faith?” she wrote. “Even deep down… there is nothing but emptiness and darkness… If there be God — please forgive me.”

Eight years later, she was still looking to reclaim her lost faith.

“Such deep longing for God… Repulsed, empty, no faith, no love, no zeal,” she said.

As her fame increased, her faith refused to return. Her smile, she said, was a mask.

“What do I labor for?” she asked in one letter. “If there be no God, there can be no soul. If there be no soul then, Jesus, You also are not true.”

According to her letters, Mother Teresa died with her doubts. She had even stopped praying, she once said.

Mother Teresa had doubts. She, like so many people, had serious misgivings about the certainty of the existence of god. She felt lonely and sad because she could not feel his presence. Yet she carried on in her work and continued to hope that some day she would deeply feel the faith she professed to have.

You are welcome here.  Be sure to read our statement of faith.  We subscribe to 66 books of the Bible alone as being sacred.  There are devout Catholics here but they are wise when they focus on the beliefs we hold in common.

Welcome to Worthy.

I would like to know however what your name means.  Who is Olopy? is it a saint?  I'm not Catholic but would like to know where this name comes from.

Blessings,RustyAngeL

Hazard, at one point she was so lost in darkness and shared it through her book. St. Faustina went through darkness as well but her faith shone through.

Even Jesus Himself cried out on the Cross my God, my God, why have You forsaken Me? A point of darkness.
