There are those who come to the Lord in fear those who come to the Lord in Love for what was done on the Cross

We learn to Love the Lord but do we give up our fear of the Lord. I don't think we should.

As christians we think we are saved and all is well no reason to fear the Lord. Wrong there is still to be fear fear of the consiquences of our sin fear of the judgement of the Lord if our actions lead someone else astray etc.

But as christians we do not fear the Lord as we should becuase we think we are safe and all we do is covered by the Blood .............

if a man watches a movies with nudity in it does he fear the Lord?? nope or he would not watch it

Does a woman fear the Lord when she dresses inmodestly nope or she would not dress like that

Does a man or a woman think of fearing the Lord when they do things that are not pleaseing to the Lord or to others nope but we should.......

A man in my old church was a deacon upstanding rightious etc. But one night his wife came into the police station where I worked as a victims advocate and said she was tired of getting beat up all the time by her husband.. He did not fear the Lord at all and in fact had the whole church fooled........

We can fool others but we can not fool the Lord and it all comes down to what we think fo the Lord and how we act on that thinking...........

In Christ

One of the definitions of fear is

...to have a reverential awe of<fear God>

One of the definitions for wisdom is

...a wise attitude or course of action.

Wise suggests great understanding of people and of situations and unusual discernment and judgement in dealing with them.

(Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary)

Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. Proverbs 9:9,10

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7

For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord;

They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. Proverbs 1:29-31

(1.)The heart must be principled with the fear of God; that is the beginning of wisdom. A reverence of God's majesty, and a dread of His wrath, are that fear of Him which is the beginning, the first step towards true religion, whence all other instances of it take rise. This fear may, at first, have torment, but will, by degrees, cast out the torment of it. (2.) The head must be filled with the knowledge of the things of God. The knowledge of holy things (the word is plural) is understanding, the things pertaining to the service of God (those are called holy things), that pertain to our own sanctification; reproof is called that which is holy, (Matt 7:6). Or the knowledge which holy men have, which was taught by the holy prophets, of those things which holy men spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost, this is understanding; it is the best and most useful understanding, will stand us in most stead and turn to the best account.

(Matthew Henry Commentary on Proverbs 9:10)

Many of us bring God down to our level, but He wants to bring us up to His level. He has high standards, and we can attain them by walking in wisdom and holiness.

Jesus said to seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matt 6:33

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2Ti 2:15

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. Ecc 12:13

I believe many of us should take God serious. Take Him at His word, and believe by faith, we should be pleasing and acceptable unto Him in our daily thought, word, and deed. Rom12:1

May I recommend a book by John Bevere called "The Fear of the Lord"? It's a great read. Has anyone read it? I think this topic needs to be preached more often, and correctly, in church. Far too many Christians, and more unfortunately, non-Christians, have a gross misunderstanding as what it really means to "fear" the Lord.

In my opinion, three of the most under-preached topics are....

Sin/Repentence

Humility

Fear of the Lord

Amen!!

I have read the book and am reading it again. Very good book!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
