Hi all,

A light bulb of thought just lit up over my mind's eye. Like a cartoon expression of an idea, a good one ( I think). I ask your prayer first of all, but place this under General for a reason.

I believe I need to write a letter to my children, one to each, about our Lord Jesus in my life and in theirs. Plus I need to write one to my grandchild and give that one to his parents. -perhaps I need  to write  others as well, but the lightbulb lit up  with the thought to write my children.

Why?

Because, as I reread some testimonies here, I was made aware that I was picking up new stuff that I have not noticed in previous readings. New stuff! If I had just heard the testimony I would not have had time to gain additional insight that  reading affords me.

As to my own situation, my children are adults, I am in my seventies. They have had their time of church and of religion, one even graduated from a well known Christian College. But both because of church experiences and college experiences have separated from anything to do with Christians. They were both hurt deeply, by Christians. We have had our talks, they state they believe in Jesus, but there is no growth that I see in that direction. They are both very  moral as society measures moral people.  I couldn't ask for kinder more concerned for me offspring.

Anyway enough of that- my real point is that  by  writing, they can, may, and likely will read  it, and will be able to read at their own pace as often as they may desire. They may get more out of it, and I may  actually be better able to deliver more of what it is that I  desire to communicate to them than I ever will verbally,  no matter how many  conversations we may engage in. For in conversation there is that point where the mind turns off. Somewhere within  a very few minutes it says oh, I know what is coming next, hmm what time is the Rays game coming on?  Is it stuffy in here?  Want a soda?

I ask of anyone reading this, have you tried writing a presentation of the gospel of Jesus, a testimony, an encouragement, to anyone? If so how did it go?

Any suggestions based upon your own experience in writing such a letter?

And I ask for your prayer too, that I will be led to a right decision and  if led will write a well crafted  and helpful reveal.

Hi, Good question.

I took Village Schools of the Bible classes Genesis to Revelation. We had a paper to do each week and one was writing a letter to Theophilus. Theophilus means child of God. In the bible there's a letter to Theophilus and the class assignment was to make our own letter..I thought of my children as I wrote the letter for class, it was wonderful. I've saved my papers and hope to arrange them into a letter to my children to read when I die.

I've taken the class four times, I'm always learning new things in class and now Vsob is online and you don't have to do the weekly paper if you don't want to.

I highly encourage everyone to do the papers, it makes you dig deep for answers to the questions and keeps you thinking, it is a blessing.

If you take the online class, let me know. I'm willing to take it again with you! Blessings karan ?

This hits home in so many ways.   It is very difficult to show a good testimony online, or in a letter,  compared to the daily observation of one's life, activities, prayers and praises (daily every day actions, deeds, motives and purposes)...

The most awkward and hardest to overcome 'battles' are that the grown and moved family , friends, acquaintances are more and more [apparently and often] subject to the multitude of influences that pulled them (and many others) AWAY from CHRIST, instead of moving them CLOSER TO CHRIST.

i.e. there may be 100 different points of contact/ communication/ influence EVERY DAY,   each and every one directiong people AWAY FROM CHRIST.,

and only 1 or 2 or 3 contacts/ communications/ influence [HOPEFULLY] EVERY DAY encouraging and strengthening abiding IN CHRIST JESUS.

(see?)  We live in such a world ,  and each person, family , relative, or other,  must necessarily have their own

free will and faith and choice and wisdom and endurance to KEEP PURSUING , KEEP SEEKING , KEEP REMAINING IN CHRIST JESUS.

We HAVE HOPE IN CHRIST JESUS,   and PRAY IN HOPE ... ... ... EVERY DAY... ...

Sometimes, perhaps,  more and more prayer (praying constantly, without ceasing, as it is written),

may be our best course of action ---- then DOing,  whatever YHWH (GOD) says to do,  EVERY DAY.  (with regards to EVERYTHING in our lives) .   We simply are LIVING SACRIFICES every day,   unto HIM, desiring only HIS WAY, Y'SHUA'S LIFE, HIS DESIRE,  HIS WILL,  totally ! YES !

(if our children, family, neighbors, friends, acquaintance, and co-workers SEE Y'SHUA'S LIFE IN US, and in the BRETHREN.........    big 'if' ? ........   no.  no 'if'.    They do or they don't! )

When my father passed away, i had the privilege to write and read the eulogy at his funeral.   I did not get any sleep and was weary and tired running here and there and i thought, how in the world would i get this done, as quite a number of people would be listening to my words.  Mind you, my education is limited and writing skills limited too.  My sister who has very good education and a teacher was being encouraged to write it, but i stood by what we had agreed on and went home.  The funeral hosting was at my brothers place and while driving home to get prepared for the next day funeral, i  prayed all the way home and asked the Lord for his guidance and to help me through this time.

As i got home, i took out pencil and paper and in one hour had a draft and in the next fifteen minutes it was done.  I was satisfied, thanked the lord and went to the service and read it.  My siblings appreciated it.

The suggestion, get the pen and paper and sit down.  Off course pray about it and the words will flow, thoughts would just pour in.  The Holy Spirit would move in ways that would encourage and push you along with confidence.  The best part is you know your kids better than anyone, so you know each points and how they will receive it.  That also gave me confidence  to write as i knew my father very well.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
