Just Pondering

Watching Fox news and everything that is going on. The things President Trump is doing trying to revive our nation economically and spiritually, his consistent referral to God. His Supreme Court nominee and Vice President also invoking the name of the Lord. Things seem like they are going to head in a better direction, and it seems Conservatives, Constitutionalists and Christians are relaxing and preparing for a better America and a better future (less the subversives, Democrats, Progressives and Socialists).

We don't know the date or time of the coming of the Lord for His Church. Jesus will come as a thief in the night when we least expect Him. I got to pondering with myself... It seems many people expect Christ's return for His bride (Harpazo / Rapture) when things are looking gloomy, and the Lord's prophecies are being rapidly fulfilled. 

It appears to me the immediate national outlook (look at the record stock market, jobs, economy, security, etc.) and global prosperity and security is prospering greatly and is going to continue.

I'm wondering with our temporary flux of national hope and national prosperity, we might be letting our guard down and not watching for Christ's return? Could when we least expect it mean, when everything is turning around and things are rosy before the ultimate decline?

Just a pondering of an old man and wishful thinking I suppose? We're so very close...

From one old man to another ... Yes, we are very close.  Have you also considered that when His return will be is when we doubt it will happen.  I believe that in such an hour you think not, the Son of Man will come.  As in the days of Noah, so it will be when He returns.  People will be going about their business as they always have; working, shopping, enjoying sporting events, going to the doctors, etc.

Yep! It almost sounds like everything will be nice and rosey and everything running smoothly and maybe better than it was? Just talking nationally and not so much globally, but can you imagine the chaos and how fast things are going to deteriorate when the Christians in government and the church is suddenly removed along with the Restrainer? We can see they end-time players and events shaping up right now before our own eyes.

I understand from a good source that there is a major awakening and revival in Iran, and many Muslims are converting to Christianity, even under penalty of death.

Not sure about Iran and a revival.  This is the first I heard of it.

Yes, there will be a lot of conspiracy theories flying around when we are caught up to be with the Lord.  However, the Restrainer is taken "out of the way", not removed with the church, as in being gone.

2 Thessalonians 2:7

For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only He who now restrains will do so until He is taken out of the way.

Yes you are correct, that's what I had meant but it didn't come out that way...

What's your guess / opinion on how the governments of the world are going to explain the instant loss of millions of people, and the aftermath of thousands of plane, train and automobile crashes? I recently heard one 'theory' I had never heard before, among many, and it sort of makes some sense?

Well now, that is quite a question.  The disappearance of millions of people and the destruction of that magnitude could very well be blamed on aliens.  What did you hear?

Yes, from looking around it does seem like we are very close. Many deny the rapture of the Church before the seven year tribulation. Many are not looking for it as some are. It is an imminent return so nothing else has to happen. In God's perfect timing

I have had a scenario going through my mind for awhile. I do not know why Perhaps few will actually go in the rapture of the Church. Those who do not will be so angry that they will not believe that what has happened is actually the rapture. Then along comes the Antichrist with a really good reason and a major deception. I think most people will go along with his reasoning.

It looked to me like Dennis's OP was dealing with the rapture of the Church. What did you think it was dealing with?
