The Republicans said they were on a rescue mission to save Americans from a rapidly deteriorating health care market wrought by President Obama. Democrats said the bill fell far short of Mr. Obama’s goals of expanded insurance coverage and more benefits and that Republicans are now responsible for whatever goes wrong with the chaotic health care system. Republicans powered the bill through the House on a 217-213 vote and cheered as the gavel came down. Democrats, who unanimously voted against the repeal, serenaded them with chants of “Na na na na, hey, hey, hey, goodbye” — a prediction that Republicans who backed the plan would pay for it at the ballot box. That's how legislation works -- and it's refreshing to see it after all the EOs.

How can you blame this on the Dems? The Repubs do not need a single Dem vote in the House to pass anything

It's a great first step to doing right by the American insured.
Guest shiloh357
It's going to lower premiums, lower deductibles, the pre-existing conditions are still going to be taken care of, people will be able to choose their insurance company and get the policy that fits their needs and the mandate is gone. So it's not that bad. I would prefer a clean repeal and go back to what we had before Obamacare. The government could give insurance companies incentives to accept pre-existing conditions, so that older people could find coverage.
