You're missing the point -- a very liberal pontiff has welcomed a twice divorced Presbyterian, his Catholic wife and their Jewish son-in-law. As well as he welcomed muslims. All to be seen as inclusive, bridging gaps and worldly agendas. One should not dwell on what a pope does.

But I find it odd that despite his liberal embrace of the Trumps, Francis has reportedly denied that he was a Liberal.

Well he is, denial or not. But that's okay; he's just a man. And Evangelicals are not concerned with him.

Only a liberal cleric would do that, yet many on Worthy complain about the Pope's leftist politics. Im confused, we would have a problem with a liberal cleric doing what only a liberal cleric would do?

It is how their marriage is in the eyes of God.

Right now I see one man with one woman....was Trump married and divorced before, certainly! but so are are many others, and in the end we follow a God who teaches grace and forgiveness. Its not our past mistakes that define us, but what we do right now, and right now, as far as I can tell Trump and Melania are indeed honoring their marriage vows, and I don't see how anyone can hold that against them. The RCC claims such powers among Catholics and can annul a marriage for "lack of canonical form."
