That's what most people do.   The "peacock" thing is just a convenient way of ignoring the information.     They don't have a problem with articles that include name calling when Trump is the target of said name-calling.

Yes, it has to be done because there really aren't any news outlets that do not have a bias in one direction or another.

Funny how unsubstantiated accusations and  unnamed sources wasn't a problem  when they were accusing Trump of obstruction of justice.   Unsubstantiated accusations wasn't a problem they were accusing Trump of leaking something classified.   The fake moral outrage gets really old, after a while.

Don't you have a complaint with the inaccuracy of the vast majority of news stories from both the left and the right? What percentage of news stories would you say you have a problem with?

Not all news is the same.

If it is political or religious in nature I find pretty much 100% of stores are biased and either spin or twist or leave things out. So for stories of those kind that are importation I will read maybe a half a dozen sources from all perspectives to see what they have to say and try to find the common ground, which is the part I take to be the most accurate.

And while all sources are biased, they all have areas where they are more biased than other areas.

Take CNN for example, they are clearly biased against Trump and so when you read about Trump on them you have to take that into account.   But one could read a business story or a maybe a story about a crime and worry less about the bias.

Some sources are just not worth going to in the first place, Infowars, HuffPost and the like.  I will not go to any far right/left source that has no credibility.  Sadly I have had to move Breitbart into this category when they were at one time a go to source.

I'm not sure what differentiates cnn from the huffington post or breitbart with regard to bias, at this point, at least regarding anything at all political in nature. Their credibility is virtually shattered.

CNN Forced To Issue Humiliating Correction After Comey Testimony Vindicates Trump

U.S. President Donald Trump (L) shakes hands with James Comey, director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), during an Inaugural Law Enforcement Officers and First Responders Reception in the Blue Room of the White House on January 22, 2017.
June 8, 2017

With Wednesday's pre-release of former-FBI Director James "The Peacock" Comey's coming testimony today, the credibility crisis CNN is already suffering just hit another impossible low.

Let's review, shall we…

In fewer than two weeks, one CNN employee has "beheaded" President Trump, another has called Trump a "piece of sh*t," and the network itself has been caught on video stage-managing a protest. If that is not bad enough, just yesterday the Daily Wire broke the news that CNN's own parent company, Time-Warner, is sponsoring the nightly "assassination" of Trump.

Overall, it has been an awful year for CNN in the credibility and basic decency department, as CNN anchors have called for people to be raped and attacked 12 year-old girls who don't want to be exposed to naked men. The network itself is also facing a discrimination lawsuit from upwards of 175 minorities who claim they were discriminated against in ways not seen since the Jim Crow South.

Things got impossibly worse for the Hitler Network Wednesday when the Comey testimony so blatantly exposed a lie the network had been pushing for days, CNN actually did something almost unprecedented … issued a humiliating and high-profile correction of a huge story that proved to be -- no surprise -- a heaping pile of Fake News.

If you recall, after waiting way too long, President Trump finally fired FBI Director James "The Peacock" Comey on May 9. In his letter to Comey, Trump revealed that on three separate occasions Comey told him that he (Trump) was not under investigation. (Why he refused to inform the American people of this vital fact is for another day.)

Naturally, the news that Trump is not under investigation undermined and greatly alarmed a media eager to relentlessly push their hoax about the Trump campaign colluding with Russia to keep Hillary Clinton from campaigning in Wisconsin. And so CNN's Gloria Borger and Jake Tapper (along with three other fake journalists) came up with a source, a single source, an anonymous source, that told the corrupt media exactly what they wanted to hear…

This is from the original CNN report. The screenshot is courtesy of Zero Hedge:

cnn_caught_lying.jpg

Naturally, CNN repeated this lie on the air, and did so as early as Tuesday:

“Comey is going to dispute the president on this point if he’s asked about it by senators, and we have to assume that he will be," said Borger, the network's chief political analyst. "He will say he never assured Donald Trump that he was not under investigation, that that would have been improper for him to do so.”

Except, oops, that wasn't even close to true. In the fired Peacock's already-released testimony, not only does he not refute Trump, he confirms that what Trump said is 100% true. On three different occasions, January 6, January 27 and March 30, Comey told Trump he was not under investigation. And so Borger and Tapper, Sleepy, Dopey and Sleazy had to issue the following:

CORRECTION AND UPDATE: This article was published before Comey released his prepared opening statement. The article and headline have been corrected to reflect that Comey does not directly dispute that Trump was told multiple times he was not under investigation in his prepared testimony released after this story was published.

You see, this is why, in the pre-Fake News era, a single anonymous source would never-ever-ever have resulted in a story.

Go back and watch All The President's Men, better still, read the book. Most of the tension and suspense comes from Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein  -- not discovering damaging information about the Nixon administration, but rather attempting to confirm what they have been told using additional sources.

This used to be the norm in journalism (I thought the media was all about protecting norms?) and was so for a very good reason. Not only do sources with an agenda lie, but so do journalists with an agenda. In the swamp of DC, finding a single anonymous source willing to tell a fake journalist what he or she wants to hear is just too easy.

But Borger et al at CNN are not concerned with getting it right, they are only concerned with getting Trump. Hence, they are now losing handily to MSNBC.

As a great man once said: Sad!

:emot-heartbeat: This is only news to the hard line anti-Trumper left wingers.

Anyone have a fireworks celebratory gif they'd like to add to the celebration of , no kidding! ? :D  But wait! Never Trumpers aren't persuaded by the truth. They'll spin this. Watch. There's another outlet out there that'll hawk it as fake news.

This article lost me when it said hitler news. Once it starts in to name calling .... nothing worth reading after that point to me.

Ah, if only that resolve would demonstrate continuity in threads that are posted for the express purpose of spreading rumor, false accusations and slander against Trump. Odd how there's all manner of decorum excuse to not read the CNN outlet that is used typically to promote scurrilous reports against Trump now that CNN is forced to apologize for yellow journalism over a period of months. And it's due to what? Being opposed to sarcastic  biting language. :24: Oh, and the best part, the use of , Hitler!  Capitalized in threads here when trying to compare a dead national socialist dictator who was never elected to his office to the Democrat American billionaire who was.

Oh goodness, this is great stuff!

For those opposed to reading CNN's humiliating long overdue correction concerning their months long slander and yellow journalism commitment to spreading lies about our American President, watch the truth unfold for yourselves from Comey's own lips. And see why CNN had to do this in order to try to regain credibility.

Russian Interference in 2016 Election In his first public appearance since his May 2017 dismissal, former FBI Director James Comey testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. He said he had no doubt that he was fired for the role he played in the investigation, and detailed meetings and conversations he had with President Trump prior to his firing.

James Comey: Confused by President's Statements After Firing Former FBI Director James Comey delivers his opening statement before the Senate Intelligence Committee. He says he was confused by the president's comments in the wake of his firing given the president's expressions of support of his leadership in private.

Comey deserved to be fired. His bitterness in this event is obvious.

I never said that.

But sad to see the trend of false news continues in the lesser arena. That's not a surprise.

I dont think you have read much of my posts. I dont think you have any real idea of my views on this subject, not if you are lumping me in with those who post rumors and speculation against trump.
