:emot-hug:

i guess i should have read some of the threads before asking these questions (ooopsie) :whistling:

i know these questions are so close to the same question...

1. can a christian lose their salvation by not maintaining/growth of the spirit?

example: not living in the spirit... (spirit and truth) but by actions in lifestyle; obey the commandments, basic prayers, knowing some of God's promises, and going to church; confessing the beleif in Christ.

2. if someone is saved, can they walked away from salvation?

example: walk away on their own choice/ or fall away by "accident".

3. is these things blasphemy, or the result of?

Hmmm...... i have to find the scriptures i was reading, then i'll come post them here.

Hi, babyroses!

The Scripture I find most applicable is this one:

Hebrews 10

23 Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. 26 For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, 27 but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. 28 Anyone who has rejected Moses' law dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know Him who said, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord. And again, "The Lord will judge His people." 31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

I'll let the Word speak for itself.

I hope this helps!

Hebrews 3

1 Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus, 2 who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was faithful in all His house. 3 For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than the house. 4 For every house is built by someone, but He who built all things is God. 5 And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward, 6 but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end. Be Faithful 7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says:

"Today, if you will hear His voice,

8Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion,

In the day of trial in the wilderness,

9Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me,

And saw My works forty years.

10Therefore I was angry with that generation,

And said, "They always go astray in their heart,

And they have not known My ways.'

11So I swore in My wrath,

"They shall not enter My rest."'

12 Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; 13 but exhort one another daily, while it is called "Today," lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

14 For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, 15 while it is said:

"Today, if you will hear His voice,

Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion."

i wonder if this is what blaspemy is.

i think some people should read this: http://sinagainsttheholyspirit.cjb.net/

..... i think this kid needs help.

The parable of the prodigal son shows us that we can walk away from our salvation.

The son was alive, dead, and then alive again.

The entire Jewish nation was cut off from salvation.

God delivered His people out of Egypt and then killed thousands upon thousands because of their unbelief.

We could go on and on....

Exodus 32:33

The LORD replied to Moses, 'whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot out of my book.'

Deuteronomy 28:15, 20

However, if you do not obey the LORD your God and do not carefully follow all of His commands and decrees I am giving you today, all these curses will come upon you and overtake you...The LORD will send on you curses, confusion and rebuke in everything you put your hand to, until you are destroyed and come to sudden ruin because of the evil you have done in forsaking the LORD.

Deuteronomy 31:14-18

You are going to rest with your fathers, and these people will soon prostitute themselves to the foreign gods of the land they are entering.  They will forsake Me and break the covenant I made with them.  On that day I will become angry with them and forsake them; I will hide My face from them, and they will be destroyed.  Many disasters and difficulties will come upon them, and on that day they will ask, 'Have not these disasters come upon us because our God is not with us?'  And I will certainly hide My face on that day because of all their wickedness in turning to other gods.

2 Chronicles 15:2

...If you seek Him, He will be found by you, but if you forsake Him, he will forsake you.

Ezra 8:22

...The gracious had of our God is on everyone who looks to Him, but His great anger is against all who forsake Him.

Ezekiel 18:20-25

The soul that sins is the one who will die...But if a wicked man turns away from all the sins he has committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right, he will surely live, he will not die.  None of the offenses he has committed will be remembered against him.  Because of the righteous things he has done, he will live.  Do I take pleasure in the death of the wicked? declares the Sovereign LORD.  Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?  But if a righteous man turns from his righteousness and commits sins and does the same detestable things the wicked man does, will he live?  None of the righteous things he has done will be remembered.  Because of the unfaithfulness he is guilty of and because of the sins he has committed, he will die.  Yet you say, "The way of the Lord is not just."  Hear, O house of Israel: Is my way unjust?  Is it not your ways that are unjust?

Ezekiel 44:7

In addition to all your other detestable practices, you brought foreigners uncircumcised in heart and flesh into My sanctuary, desecrating My temple while you offered Me food, fat, and blood, and you broke My covenant.

Jeremiah 2:17, 19

Have you not brought this on yourselves by forsaking the LORD your God when He led you in the way?...Your wickedness will punish you; your backsliding will rebuke you.  Consider then and realize how evil and bitter it is for you when you forsake the LORD your God and have no awe of Me,

:whistling: HEY!! this below was copied from something else. the source of all my curiousities. anyone have something to say?

Romans 5:12

12Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned--

John 3:16

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.

Romans 5:8

8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Ephesians 2:8

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

I John 1:9

9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

2 Corinthians 5:17

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Galatians 2:20

20 I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

this above is GOD's LOVE. is is all about salvation. the milk we need to start on..............................................................................

............

look at what the Isrealites did. how many times did they walk away from God after HUGE miracles. then see Judus the betrayer; he was in the very company of Christ. it is heartbreaking that we are caple of betraying God, but we are. we are designed as a holy temple, and created in His image.... and we are not worthy except to except grace and God's will.

now what you say is correct about The lord will NEVER...can i hear that again....NEVER NEVER NEVER leave us nor forsake us. God will not leave us. when we stray and leave Him, he is faithful. He not only does not leave us, He is passionate at bringing us back, and forgiving every transgression.

there is a balance: God is GOD = creator of everything. King, Savior, Friend, Master... and JUDGE. some of us will face judgement. according to the scriptures; we must mature and live Godly.

Hebrews 3

7 Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says: "Today, if you will hear His voice, 8 Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, In the day of trial in the wilderness, 9 Where your fathers tested Me, tried Me, And saw My works forty years. 10 Therefore I was angry with that generation, And said, "They always go astray in their heart, And they have not known My ways.' 11 So I swore in My wrath, "They shall not enter My rest."' 12 Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; 13 but exhort one another daily, while it is called "Today," lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, 15 while it is said: "Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion." 16 For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, led by Moses? 17 Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? 18 And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? 19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.

Hebrews 6

1 Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 2 of the doctrine of baptisms, of laying on of hands, of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment. 3 And this we will do if God permits. 4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, 5 and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, 6 if they fall away,to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame. 7 For the earth which drinks in the rain that often comes upon it, and bears herbs useful for those by whom it is cultivated, receives blessing from God;8 but if it bears thorns and briers,it is rejected and near to being cursed, whose end is to be burned.

1 Peter 4

17 For the time has come for judgment to begin at the house of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God?

2 Peter 2

4 For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; 5and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; 6and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly; 7and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked.

without grace and mercy we would be without hope.

we are not prsoners of the flesh.... we still have free will; we must be spotless in our ways, fallowing God's will as beloved Dear children: obediant in everything. the blood has freed us, saved us. now we have work to do.

we will stand in judgement. if we are in Christ, will will not be condemned.

Christ called us to be like Him. that is alot of work and preserverance (i'm so happy and filled with joy that the Holy Spirit guides us!)... we have food and promises... we can do it through God's mighty grace and love.

we still have free will too, that can be the loss of our salvation.

Babyroses,

Not wanting to debate anything.....my personal conviction is that you are saved or you are not.

God knows the beginning from the end. He doesn't live in time. Everything that is happening is already done in His view. He knew who was saved or lost from the beginning of time and used them each in His master plan.

Judas, for example, was the son of perdition from the foundation of the world. It says that in the bible. So, even though he appeared to be a follower of Christ, he was always lost, never saved and then lost. God knew it and used his life to fulfill His plan.

I do not believe in predestination, that God chooses whether or not we are lost or saved, I just believe that He knows before we do.

Your salvation is not dependant upon your actions, you can't mess up and lose your salvation. The Spirit bears witness with you if you are a son of God, so you don't have to guess, you just know.

If you aren't sure, if you don't feel that security and you want to know, just ask Jesus to save you. Tell Him you know you are a sinner and can never measure up to the holiness of God on your own and are in need of His free gift to make you justified before the Holy Almighty God.

That's it, baby! Now, relax and walk with Jesus! ;)

John 17:12 says he was the son of perdition that the scriptures might be fulfilled.

Judas was the treasurer and was stealing money from the treasury while he was a "disciple"

Jesus said that many false prophets would come in His name, doing signs and wonders and miracles.

Acting like you're in the Spirit, doesn't mean you are.

Judas was lost from the foundation of the world.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
