that we should not marry outside of our faith or even date outside of our faith, and it even says that we can have outer circle of friends that are un-believers but we can't have an inner circle with them inside.

How does 1 Corin 6:14 say all that too you.

Yoke means, "to be joined with." We are not to be joined with unbelievers relationally. We can be nice, friendly and hospitable, but they are not the ones to whom we should ever to go for counsel or consolation. They are not the ones with whom we should we should seek to any emotional attachmement, especially with members of the opposite sex.

I did in no way state that I belive we should marry outside the faith.

Yes, but you automatically took issue with the statement that we should not date outside the faith. Dating is a precursor too marriage. Most people date for the purpose of finding an acceptable mate. Dating did not exist back then. It is modern western cultural distinction. However, there is a certain degree of emotional bonding that takes place when people are dating, and it is inappropriate for Christians to date unbelievers. 2Cor. 6:14 can be applied in principle to the issue of dating.

Also could you all stop with the resounding "Your Theology" Condemnation here.

I have never condemned yours.

Even when I dis-agreed with it.

I call it like I see it. If you don't like it, that is your problem.

Yes David,

I can easily show you that one verse that supports the fact that we should not marry a non- Christian.

But lets see you give it to me, Since you obviously have better Theological roots than me.

:emot-hug:

I can see the Love of Christ in you in the words I have quoted.

It amazes me that, how you would claim the Laws and demand it to be done.

But Lack the fruit that yields the whole Bible togather.

Love.

God Bless

So, are you saying that none of Paul's writings apply to us, since they were all written to a particular group or person? :emot-hug:

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

No I am not saying that sis,

I am just saying that we are extracting a meaning from something that was intended to a Church.

How does that qualify to assert that it somehow entailed marriage.

Sis, I am kinda tired..LOL.

Could we hold this again tomorow ?

I am one of those who just likes to know what/how and why.

I do not support the idea of external marriage.

I was just trying to see how folks would use the Bible to argue that case.

God Bless.

Dear David,

This only other thing I would add at this point is that God continuously advises the Israelites to not intermarry with unbelievers. He also is so very adamant about hating divorce. I think it is only right to begin our endeavor to marry, with seeking out those who also worship and love our God. We must follow the example God gives within His Word.

In His Love,

Suzanne

I think it's great that you guys are chatting about this but don't get your knickers in a twist i cant tell whether you are argueing or debating or what but i have an awesome web sight for all of you if you havnt seen it before visit www.fathersloveletter.com

i have to say i know that i shouldn't be going out with an unbeliever and have him as my bf because i know what it says in the bible but not only that.. with God in your heart even a little bit of his spirit! you know whats right and wrong, you just know.. your spirit man just dissagrees

God's heart for us is that we DO hang out with unbelievers as we are being examples thru Jesus Christ it is our job to disciple and to be a witness. Jesus still loves unbelievers and i believe we should have an unconditonal love for them also we can still be in the world but not OF the world we shouldnt diss God's people.

Even so.. after knowing what i know i am still with Ben..Only in the hope that he will oneday give his heart to the lord, if he doe's not then it only becomes a troubled relationship as you cannot mix dark with light you cannot work together as a team for God like he destined a marridge to be in the first place.

Some people believe love is a gift from God and we should be the ones who choose who we marry but i firmly disagree with that. I do believe that love is a gift a fruit of the holy spirit, but i also believe that God gives us the desires of our hearts.. all our days are written in his book and that he knitted us together in our mothers womb he pre destined every good thing in our lives and we can only recieve God's plan for ourselves if we follow him and give him all the glory.

God will have an awesome plan for ben's life but if he regects that plan how can it fit in with mine? it's obvious that God would like us to marry of the like and have both parties lifting him up together.

After reading over that last post of mine i actually feel really stupid as i am with an unbeliever even when i know the truth.

I dont know if i am sinning as such, but please understand that once you get yourselves into a situation like this one thing is easily lead to another and before you know it this person is far too important to just drop..

yourv'e shared so much together your falling in love and you continuesly wonder how different life was before you met them and how empty it would be without them

sometimes i think to myself..who am i too judge where his heart's at with God?

i do not know why i think this..but it is true i should'nt judge him..but it is wrong too think that and..it's confusing

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
