The only missing piece that obviously creates significant doubt is the typical Islamic shooter or bomber etc usually leaves a trail...but on second thoughts many don't, usually the group they are affiliated to makes the claim, would that be right?

 

Yes, islamic terrorists usually like to inflict as much carnage as they can, but in the case of those being radicalized in the US, there are patterns have been pretty consistent, and this shooting doesn't fit the usual pattern of someone who was radicalized by ISIS or some other group.  We always find that they have been on radical sites, reading Islamic radical literature, and usually making all kinds of claims on social media that indicate an Islamic radical bent.  None of those elements are present.

The only possibility I see is that if he was radicalized, the media and law enforcement are doing their dead-level best to hide those facts from us, which would not surprise me.

Generally, in the past, we know within less than a week if someone has been radicalized. They usually paint them as a "lone wolf" (which is a contradiction in terms).  We shall see.  It could be someone just out to kill some Republicans, like the guy who shot Scalise.

Agreed. This guy was very deliberate and planned thoroughly. Would be interesting to know how far back he had planned to commit this act or something similar. Doesn't fit the typical profile of your usual spur of the moment lunatic mass murderer.

Las Vegas sheriff: Mass killer led a 'secret life' before attack

The Las Vegas gunman behind the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history spent decades stockpiling guns and living a “secret life” that investigators may never be able to fully understand, police say.

Clark County, Nev., Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said Wednesday that it was only logical to “make the assumption” that Stephen Paddock had “some help at some point” in pulling off Sunday's massacre.

As evidence, Lombardo pointed to gunman Paddock’s huge arsenal, explosive materials found in his car and his meticulous planning.

“What we know is Stephen Paddock is a man who spent decades acquiring weapons and ammo and living a secret life, much of which will never be fully understood,” the sheriff said.

 

Authorities also revealed that they believe Paddock had an escape plan, even though he turned the gun on himself as police closed in on his luxury suite at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Paddock killed 58 people and injured hundreds in the attack as he fired from his room on the 32nd floor.

Authorities were still searching for a motive.

"Anything that would indicate this individual’s trigger point, that would cause him to do such harm, we haven’t understood it yet," Lombardo told reporters Wednesday. "Don't you think the concealment of his history of his life was well thought out?"

Analyzing Paddock's computer, cellphone and other electronic devices, Investigators have found no obvious ideological motive, no clear connection to extremists or activist groups or outward display of mental illness, The Associated Press reported.

Forgive me, but this is totally absurd. Am I now a terrorist? 

I served and fought for my country, I fought alongside Americans at times in this ongoing war on terror, Americans that have similar views to myself. I know the threat to our freedom, I've defended it.

I believe people need to acknowledge and accept it, unlike some who think turning a blind eye or remaining in denial will make it all just go away. 

Talking about the terrorist threat, or threats to our democracies in general makes us aware, I have the opposite opinion to yourself. Not discussing terrorism is a form of denial. There is no alternative way to combat terrorism other than to firstly accept it, confront it, fight it and annihilate it. Whether this is Islamic terrorism, domestic terrorism or some other form, it should be treated as such.

You have repeatedly pushed the rumor that ISIS was involved even though there is zero evidence of them being so.

I did not say you were a terrorist, I said you are helping them to spread terror by repeating rumors and innuendo. 

I to served and fought for my country, I know about the threat to our freedom also.   That is how I understand how terrorist work and operate.   

Wild speculation and rumor mongering does not help the situation.  

You might as well be speculating that the guy was being controlled by aliens, there is the same amount of evidence for that as for him being part of ISIS

I don't think he was crazy or anything like that.  This was too planned out to the be work of someone who was crazy.  I can't make the "Islamic radical" connection yet.
